Controversy over bird's nest over 13,000 VND/jar advertised by TikToker Quyen Leo Daily

Recently, the online community has been buzzing about bird's nest products sold through livestream sessions (online sales) by a famous couple on the TikTok platform with the account Quyen Leo Daily - real names La Quoc Quyen and Nguyen Lan Anh.

This couple once caused a "fever" with many livestream sessions selling household goods, houses, lifestyle... lasting dozens of hours, reaching a revenue of up to 100 billion VND. Previously, Quoc Quyen - Lan Anh were known by many people with a TikTok channel with content revolving around family life.

Accordingly, in many livestream sessions in recent months, this TikToker couple often livestreams to advertise the sale of bird's nest-related products such as broken bird's nest, pre-cooked bird's nest...

Notably, the combo product of 33 jars of fresh bird's nest ready to be cooked with a capacity of 70ml is priced at 699,000 VND, equivalent to only about 21,000 VND/jar. Or the combo of 20 jars is priced at 500,000 VND, equivalent to 25,000 VND/jar.

There was even a time when some consumers said they bought this product on the couple's livestream for 658,000 VND/box of 50 bottles, equivalent to just over 13,000 VND/bottle. The product is often advertised by Quoc Quyen as 35% bird's nest (the percentage of pure bird's nest used in the product - PV).

With a super cheap price of just over 13,000 VND/bottle containing 35% bird's nest, many consumers expressed doubts about the product's quality. Accordingly, TikTok account owner Ha Thich Review posted an article saying that it was the first time she bought a product on TikTok through a livestream of Quyen Leo Daily and his wife. Because she felt the product was too cheap, she also bought it to try.

"However, when I bought it and used it, the product had a strange smell and taste while the shelf life was up to one year. It cost only over 10,000 VND/bottle. In particular, with the product containing apples, the apple pieces turned black and had a sour taste," said this TikTok account.

Similarly, another TikTok account also warned that he had purchased bird's nest through Quyen Leo Daily's livestream. However, after using it, this person began to doubt the 35% bird's nest content commitment, because he felt that most of the jar was chemical sugar. When he contacted to complain about the quality, the account owner did not receive a response and was then blocked from contacting him.

During a livestream session in October 2024, when a customer questioned the quality of the product, TikToker Quoc Quyen affirmed that "the product has been tested by the brand, the bird's nest is 35% standard and the World of Bird's Nest standard product guarantees the quality".

The price of this product is also much cheaper than the products sold on the market by some big and long-standing brands on the market. For example, the Khanh Hoa Sanest bird's nest drink product produced by Khanh Hoa Bird's Nest State-owned One Member Company Limited has a listed price of 338,000 VND/box of 8 bottles, equivalent to more than 42,000 VND/70ml bottle. According to the ingredients published on the website, this product contains 21% bird's nest.

According to research, the products that Quyen Leo Daily advertised belong to the brand name The Gioi Yen Sao - Nguyen Thuy. The product label states that it is manufactured by The Gioi Yen Sao Group Investment Joint Stock Company, manufactured in Ben Cat City, Binh Duong; the product is of Thuy The Gioi Yen Sao Business Household, with Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy as the legal representative. Ms. Thuy is also the legal representative of The Gioi Yen Sao Group Company Limited (Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City).

However, currently, on the TikTok Shop cart of the account The Gioi Yen Sao - Nguyen Thuy has removed all pre-cooked bird's nest products, only selling self-cooked bird's nest sets. Some videos advertising this product on the TikTok channel of Quyen Leo Daily and his wife are also inaccessible.

Previously, TikToker Hang Du Muc was involved in a scandal when she livestreamed selling LoiNest bird's nest at the end of last year for more than 30,000 VND/bottle containing 0.3 grams of bird's nest.
