A breath of fresh air for a movement

Security and order are maintained; social evils are pushed back; the economy and society develop; the material and spiritual life of the people is improved; the great national unity bloc is firmly consolidated... Contributing to the above-mentioned general achievements, we must mention the results of implementing the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" in the two provinces of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan over the past many years.

Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces merged under the common name of Thai Nguyen province. Many new opportunities opened up, and Thai Nguyen people enthusiastically welcomed them in a new mindset. In that context, the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" also entered a new and promising stage. With the belief in a civilized and prosperous society inherited from the achievements of the two provinces over a quarter of a century.

Recalling the early days of implementing the Movement, both provinces had to face many difficulties: inconvenient transportation, high percentage of poor households; complicated social evils. However, since effectively implementing the Movement, both regions have changed rapidly, with a new, vibrant appearance and the spirit of solidarity and emulation to overcome poverty spreading widely among all classes of people.

The aim of the Movement is to build a civilized and modern society. Accordingly, the provincial authorities and the entire population have agreed to implement the following contents: Helping each other develop the economy, reduce poverty sustainably; implementing a disciplined and legal culture; building a healthy cultural environment; building cultural and sports institutions and building healthy political ideology, in which the key content is building cultural families, residential areas, agencies, units and enterprises.

Over the past 25 years (2000-2025), in the two provinces combined, millions of families have been recognized as cultural; hundreds of thousands of residential areas, agencies, units, and enterprises have met cultural standards. In the past 5 years, the old Bac Kan had 93% of households achieving cultural family status/year, nearly 91% of villages, hamlets, and residential groups meeting cultural standards; the old Thai Nguyen had 90% of households achieving cultural family status/year, over 90% of villages, hamlets, and residential groups meeting cultural standards.

To achieve the above results, the Steering Committees of the Movement of the two provinces have actively participated. Bac Kan has compiled, published and distributed nearly 10,000 professional guidance documents; organized 50 propaganda and training conferences for grassroots cadres.

Thai Nguyen has printed and published more than 36,000 books promoting good people and good deeds; more than 13,300 guidance and instruction documents; 16,500 leaflets and 3,500 posters distributed to the grassroots; and more than 800 banners and flags have been hung to serve propaganda work. More than 90% of households have access to information on preventing and combating domestic violence, 100% of staff participating in family work and preventing and combating domestic violence have been trained and improved in professional skills.

Through the effective implementation of the Movement, the awareness of the majority of the people has been raised. Ethnic minorities living in remote, isolated and disadvantaged areas have raised their vigilance; joining hands to move towards a civilized lifestyle, in accordance with the nation's fine customs and traditions.

In particular, in recent years, the Movement has been linked with the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas". As a result, up to now, the whole province has 143 communes, 208 villages and hamlets meeting new rural standards.

In the old Bac Kan province alone, there are 28 communes and 70 villages that have met the new rural standards. In the old Thai Nguyen province, there are 115 communes recognized as meeting the new rural standards; 50 communes recognized as meeting the advanced new rural standards; 12 communes and 138 hamlets recognized as model new rural areas...
