On the afternoon of May 30, Hue City People's Committee held a regular press conference for May 2025.

At the press conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Finance Tran Cong Thich Vuong informed about some achievements in socio -economic development in May 2025. Accordingly, Hue tourism continued to flourish with many unique cultural festivals organized under the National Tourism Year program, creating highlights, attracting many domestic and international tourists to Hue.
In May alone, the number of visitors to Hue increased sharply by nearly 85.5% compared to the same period last year. Since the beginning of the year, visitors to Hue are estimated at more than 2.7 million, an increase of more than 67%, of which international visitors are estimated at nearly 1.1 million; revenue is estimated at more than VND 5,000 billion, an increase of 55% compared to the same period in 2024.
Hue's total export turnover in May was estimated at 136 million USD, up 9% over the previous month, up 32.8% over the same period. In the first 5 months, total export turnover was estimated at 598 million USD, up 29.8% over the same period, reaching 41.8% of the plan; total import turnover was estimated at 441.7 million USD, up 20.8% over the same period.
Total retail sales of goods and social consumer services are estimated at VND 26,500 billion, up nearly 16%. Total outstanding credit is estimated at VND 86,800 billion, up 4.3% compared to the end of 2024; of which, credit for small and medium enterprises is estimated at VND 14,800 billion, up 16.2%. The average consumer price index (CPI) in May is estimated to increase by 0.15% compared to the previous month.
Hue City has completed the plan to rearrange commune-level administrative units and reported to the Government to submit to the National Assembly Standing Committee. Accordingly, the current 133 commune-level administrative units will be rearranged to reorganize into 40 commune-level administrative units (a reduction of 69.92%). Currently, Hue is focusing on collecting public opinions on amending the 2013 Constitution.
At the press conference, reporters from press agencies raised questions about a number of issues arising at the grassroots level, such as: the work of removing temporary houses; the payment of toxic allowances for teachers in laboratories; the implementation of security and safety work at relic sites after the Nguyen Dynasty throne was violated; handling of the subject who violated the throne and related individuals...
The questions were answered specifically by the Chief of the City People's Committee Office, Tran Huu Thuy Giang, and leaders of departments, branches, and localities. The issues raised by reporters at the press conference that require coordination from relevant agencies have been received by departments, branches, and will be answered in writing by reporters and press agencies as soon as possible.
