Preserving the Springtime Moment

Spring – a time of transition for nature and all things, with flowers blooming everywhere, with nature, people, and joyful festivals brimming with vitality… has always been a captivating subject, igniting the creative aspirations of artists, especially photographers. For these talented photographers, spring is the season dedicated to art.

The vibrant and lively spring season in our homeland is also a rich source of inspiration for photographers.

Every spring, through the tireless footsteps and artistic vision of photographers from the ancestral land, authentic and vibrant moments of nature, the sky, and people are captured harmoniously, reflecting, preserving, and documenting the changes in the homeland or each region the photographer visits. It could be a patch of golden sunlight, a wisp of morning mist, delicate flower buds just beginning to bloom, or the innocent joy of children in the highlands, the cheerful and radiant faces of people participating in festivals... The harmonious combination of ideas, composition, focusing, lighting, and color allows viewers to appreciate the poetic beauty of spring.

Having been involved in photography for over five years, young photographer Do Thu Quyen has garnered numerous awards. Among her artistic photographs, many capture the essence and spirit of spring. Beyond her homeland, she has traveled extensively to various regions, exploring creative angles from Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Quang Ngai, Da Nang , Ba Ria - Vung Tau, and Phu Quoc...

“My passion for photography has always driven me to seek opportunities to travel to many places, from the highlands to the coast, to explore, discover , and capture. Some spring-themed works are beautiful moments captured while on assignment; others require traveling from dawn till dusk, returning two or three times before achieving a satisfactory shot. Sometimes, the effort of waiting year after year is needed to create a masterpiece. I find that the scenery of my homeland, spring festivals, customs, and unique cultural aspects of the Lunar New Year celebrations of ethnic minorities, combined with the natural beauty of spring, always attract me and serve as inspiration for my creative work,” shared photographer Do Thu Quyen.

Spring has become a rich source of inspiration, woven into countless works of poetry, music, and art by numerous writers, poets, musicians, and painters. But perhaps the most captivated and deeply attached to the beauty of this "first season" are photographers. For veteran photographers of the ancestral land such as Vu Manh Cuong, Nguyen Vu Hau, Ut Muoi, Ngo Chi Thanh, Quang Bang, Nguyen Viet Thang... even though they have experienced countless springs and can no longer remember how many pairs of shoes they have worn out trying to capture beautiful and poetic moments, each new spring still fills them with emotion and overflows with unspoken words, always a captivating "enchantment" that enthralls those who wield their cameras.
