A balanced diet, study schedule, and adequate rest.

According to Mr. Ly Duc Thanh, Deputy Director of Professional Development at Fudubank Center in Ho Chi Minh City (specializing in skills), to achieve the best results in the exam, students need a balanced diet, study schedule, and adequate rest.

According to Mr. Thanh, candidates need to maintain stable health and the best possible mental state. They should eat a balanced diet, drink enough water, and can supplement with vitamin B from bananas and nuts. Candidates should avoid staying up too late, waking up too early, and ensure they get enough sleep.

"Avoid overexertion and excessive eating. In particular, don't stay up too late, as it's bad for your health and mental state, and you could easily oversleep and be late for the exam," Mr. Thanh advised.

Mr. Thanh further noted that on exam day, candidates absolutely must not skip meals. They must eat cooked food and can have a light snack 30 minutes before the exam to replenish energy. A 15-20 minute nap at lunchtime is recommended to regain energy, helping them stay alert and perform better in the afternoon exam. Avoid eating unfamiliar foods, foods that are difficult to digest, or foods that can easily cause diarrhea or food poisoning.

"Confidence in oneself is 50% of the battle; the rest depends on each contestant's own efforts ," Mr. Thanh said.

Secrets to getting a high score on the test.

Mr. Huynh Thanh Phu, Principal of Bui Thi Xuan High School (District 1), believes that with the limited time remaining, candidates should absolutely not put pressure on themselves by cramming more knowledge.

"Instead of constantly studying, reading, and solving problems or trying to memorize a particular topic, spend time listening to music, playing light sports , or going out to eat with family to relax your mind. Remember, when you're not stressed, the accumulated knowledge will 'return' to your brain more easily," Mr. Phu said.

Regarding the Literature subject, Mr. Vo Minh Nghia, a teacher at Nguyen Du High School (District 10), noted that to do well on the exam, candidates should spend time reviewing their essay writing methods, paying particular attention to how to construct arguments to develop a literary excerpt. Instead of rote memorization, they should focus on understanding the material. Understanding the material will help candidates navigate the situations they encounter.

"If you want peace of mind, review the texts you fear the most. As for the texts you already understand, just ignore them for now," Mr. Nghia said.

Teacher Nghia added the following note:

The reading comprehension section is the easiest to score points on; you can do it even without knowing the material or studying. Just read the text carefully and answer the questions correctly and completely, and you can get this section right.

Reading comprehension questions require careful attention to identifying where to find the answer before attempting to answer. The answer may be outside the text or within the text itself. Therefore, read the question very carefully and remain calm to process the information in the question.

A paragraph requires clear identification of the topic, not an essay, to avoid line breaks. Clearly define the points you need to address in the argumentative essay prompt. Brainstorm ideas before you start writing. Prioritize writing multiple points rather than a single point that requires lengthy analysis.

When analyzing a literary excerpt, remember that the essay must include all three parts: introduction, body, and conclusion. The body should be divided into paragraphs. Try to explain literary details, poetic ideas, character emotions, etc., in your own words, based on what your teachers have taught you. Avoid rambling, lengthy interpretations and absolutely avoid misinterpreting the text in a violent or abusive way.

"Write in a way that shows the examiner that you truly feel and understand every word and phrase evoked by the literary excerpt. Just remember that, and you absolutely cannot fail this subject or score below average," Mr. Nghia advised.
