Hanoi City Police are piloting the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to monitor urban order in several key areas.

In line with the policy of promoting the application of science and technology and digital transformation in ensuring security and order, from June 1st, the Hanoi City Police Department will pilot the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to monitor urban order in several key areas.

Images captured by UAVs are transmitted directly to the Command Information Center to support command and control operations and to promptly detect and handle violations.

In front of 327 Tay Son Street, Kim Lien Ward – illegal use of the sidewalk for vehicle repair.

In front of 182 Xã Đàn Street, Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám ward, people are illegally using the sidewalk to repair vehicles.

In front of 49 Pham Van Dong Street, Phu Dien Ward – Park your car in the area marked "No Parking".

According to the Hanoi City Police, 1,236 violations were recorded through "on-the-spot fines" via camera footage in one week. Of these, 143 cases were detected through AI camera systems, and 1,093 cases (83 of which involved illegal use of sidewalks) were recorded through direct reports from individuals and organizations in 82 communes and wards.

Some areas still recorded violations, such as Thanh Liet (32 cases), Ha Dong (30 cases), Hoang Mai (29 cases), Gia Lam (28 cases), and Tu Liem (27 cases).
