In recent times, Women's Unions at all levels in Lao Cai province have implemented many programs and actively mobilized social resources from businesses, organizations and charitable individuals to create resources to support housing construction for poor women members in difficult circumstances.
Returning to residential group 6, Van Phu ward after nearly 4 years since the house of Ms. Le Thi Nhan - a member of the poor women's association was built. Now, the house has begun to be covered with the color of time but is still filled with warmth and happiness. The peaceful smile on the face of the woman who once struggled with poverty moved us.

Unable to hide her emotions, quickly wiping away the tears rolling down her sunburnt face, Ms. Nhan said: Before, every time there was a storm, my family lived in fear of the house leaking and collapsing at any time. Since 2022, thanks to the attention of the Women's Union at all levels, mobilizing resources, and supporting 30 million VND to build a house, my life and my children's life have become much more stable. I feel secure working and earning money to support my children's education.
In the spacious house, the compact study corner for Ms. Nhan and her three children is neatly arranged, books and school supplies are always ready. In the yard, a few pots of fresh flowers add a warm color to the space. Since having a new house, her family has gradually formed a stable lifestyle, the children are well-behaved, making progress in their studies, and she is confident in participating in production labor.
Ms. Nhan added: Thanks to a stable home, even though I work far away and only come home at night, I worry less about my sick husband or the small children at home. The women's association and the neighborhood association also regularly care for and pay attention to the children, which makes me feel more secure. I currently work in Minh Quan Industrial Park, Au Lau Ward, earning nearly 8 million VND per month. Thanks to that, our family has escaped poverty and our life is much more peaceful.
On the journey back to visit the charity houses built and repaired by the Women's Union at all levels, we visited the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Ty in village 8, Bao Yen commune.
Like Ms. Nhan, Ms. Ty is a women's association member in difficult circumstances, her husband is often sick and her child is disabled. Storm No. 3 in 2024 destroyed her family's house, but due to her poverty, she has no money to repair it, and each passing day is a worry.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ty shared: There are days when it rains heavily, water floods into the house, my child has to huddle under the blanket. I worry about both the house and the child, sometimes I feel helpless.
Earlier this year, thanks to the care of the Women's Union at all levels, I was able to repair my house. This sturdy house is my support, so I don't give up, I try every day, hoping my children will have a better life.
Over the years, the Women's Union at all levels of Lao Cai province has made every effort to accompany poor women and those in difficult circumstances to build new houses so that they can have a stable life. From surveying and understanding difficult circumstances to mobilizing the hearts of businesses, organizations and kind-hearted individuals, many houses have been built, simple but full of warmth.

Each house is both a place to live and a spiritual support, giving women confidence to firmly step on the path of building happiness, taking care of their children and family. From 2021 to now, more than 300 charity houses have been supported by the Association at all levels to be renovated and repaired with a total amount of over 11 billion VND.
Comrade Ha Thi Doa - Vice President of Lao Cai Provincial Women's Union said: During the past term, the Provincial Women's Union has always paid attention to propagating, mobilizing, and supporting women to build prosperous, equal, progressive, happy, and civilized families. We are interested in mobilizing women to support members and women in difficult circumstances; making efforts to mobilize, connect, and mobilize social resources so that shelters of love can reach poor women in all localities, contributing to eliminating housing gaps and improving the quality of life.
In addition to material support, the Women's Union at all levels also regularly visits, encourages, and organizes training courses on life skills, production, business, etc. to help women become more confident and proactive in economic development. We believe that building a home is just the beginning. More importantly, it helps women gain more knowledge, skills, and confidence to create a better future for themselves.

The roofs of love are like flowers that quietly bloom, bringing peace and hope to each family of women's association members. Difficulties that seem to be deadlocked can also be eased by the extended hand of the community, so that poor women not only find a place to live but also nurture their dreams and build happiness for themselves and their children.
