Mr. Truong Cong On (residing in Van Duc A hamlet) is a veteran who participated in the resistance war in the Southwest Region. After the reunification of the country, he returned to his hometown and rebuilt his life. As the head of the Veterans Association branch in Van Duc A hamlet, he has always been exemplary, actively participating in local movements and making many contributions to the association's work.

Having lived in a dilapidated house for many years, Mr. On always cherished the dream of having a stable home to enjoy his old age. However, due to difficult economic circumstances, that dream has yet to be realized.

Recognizing Mr. On's contributions and dedication, the People's Committee of An Trach commune mobilized benefactors to support his family in building a charitable house worth 70 million VND. Along with additional funds from his family, the spacious and sturdy house was completed, turning his dream into reality.

“ Previously, my family lived in a severely dilapidated old house, but we didn't have the means to repair or rebuild it. Now, thanks to the concern of the local government, my family has a spacious and comfortable house built with charitable funds. This is the motivation for my family to continue striving to develop production and improve our lives, ” Mr. On shared emotionally .

In Van Duc A hamlet, the family of Mr. Le Hoang Minh (son of a fallen soldier), despite their efforts to develop their family economy through shrimp farming and crop cultivation, still has limited income due to unfavorable production conditions. Their old house is often severely flooded during heavy rains or high tides, causing many difficulties in daily life, but they lack the means to build a new one.

Sharing in their plight and expressing gratitude for their contributions to the revolutionary cause, the People's Committee of An Trach commune supported the family in building a house of gratitude worth 70 million VND, funded by donations from benefactors. With this meaningful financial support, the family is trying to contribute additional savings to make the house even more spacious and comfortable.

Mr. Minh said emotionally, “Before, with our difficult circumstances, I never dared to dream of having a sturdy house like this. Thanks to the local government's support, my dream of a new house has become a reality. This house is not only a place to live , but also a motivation for my family to work hard and continue to improve our lives.”

Mobilize all resources to provide housing support.

According to the People's Committee of An Trach commune, the locality currently has 855 families receiving preferential treatment. In 2025, implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for people with meritorious services and relatives of martyrs, the commune supported the construction of 92 houses for these beneficiaries . From the beginning of 2026 until now, the locality has continued to mobilize resources to build two more houses of gratitude. After a review, the entire commune currently has 82 houses in need of support, including 20 new houses and 62 houses requiring repairs.
