According to a survey on Booking.com on August 29th, 98% of hotels and guesthouses in Mang Den town, Kon Plong district, are fully booked for the period from August 31st to September 2nd. Many homestays in the town have also reported no available rooms.

Nắng Homestay Măng Đen announced that all rooms are booked for the four-day holiday. Guests started making reservations from the beginning of August. A representative of the accommodation said that occupancy rates on weekends often reach 90-100%.

"Most guests booking rooms are from neighboring provinces and cities such as Da Nang , Quang Nam, Phu Yen, Quy Nhon, and Dak Lak, driving themselves there," said a representative of Nang Homestay Mang Den.

Mang Den Chai Homestay reported that most rooms were fully booked for the holiday period, with only double rooms priced at 900,000 VND per night remaining on September 2nd and 3rd. La Casa Homestay also stated that only a few rooms were available on September 2nd.

A representative from Golden Boutique Hotel Mang Den stated that there are no rooms available from August 31st to September 2nd. The hotel only has 1-2 odd-numbered rooms for two guests on September 2nd and 3rd. During the holiday period, the hotel increases prices by 400,000-600,000 VND for all room categories. On weekdays, the price is around 2.2 million VND, on weekends it's 2.4 million VND, and on holidays it's 2.8 million VND.

Mr. Bui Viet Ha, Chairman of the Mang Den Tourism Association, said that accommodation establishments in Mang Den town currently have 1,200 rooms. During holidays and weekends from the beginning of the year until now, room occupancy in Mang Den has always reached 90-100%. During off-peak periods such as weekdays, occupancy reaches 60-70%. Compared to the same period last year, the booking rate in Mang Den has not changed, but the number of available rooms has increased by 30%.

With the upcoming September 2nd holiday, accommodation establishments in the town are experiencing peak demand from August 29th to September 1st. Currently, most hotels, guesthouses, and homestays have already received full bookings. Rooms will start becoming vacant after September 2nd.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Long, Director of Ngoc Linh Tourism Company in Mang Den, said that the tourism situation in Mang Den during the September 2nd holiday was generally unchanged compared to the summer or the April 30th holiday. Most tourists in the town were independent travelers from neighboring provinces and cities, traveling by private vehicle.

Package tours to Mang Den departing from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City remain sluggish, similar to the April 30th holiday period. The typical customers for these package tours to Mang Den are corporate groups undertaking team-building activities.

According to Mr. Bui Viet Ha, Mang Den regularly updates its art programs and tourism activities to attract visitors to the town. For the upcoming holiday, the town will organize a music night on the evening of August 30th - September 1st, a gong-playing competition between communes, and a culinary competition at the Mang Den market.

Mang Den's main tourism products are community-based tourism, ecotourism, and exploring local culture. In recent years, the town has become more well-known on the tourism map, and the locality has actively built centers to support tourists and provide tourism advice. The factors that attract visitors to Mang Den are its distinct natural beauty, climate, and local culture. The town is nicknamed "Little Da Lat" with its primeval forests, lakes, waterfalls, pine hills, cool and fresh climate, and peaceful atmosphere.

The Chairman of the Mang Den Tourism Association believes that for ecotourism in the town to develop sustainably, the government, businesses, and local people need to work together to preserve the pristine forest ecosystem there.

"Focusing on training local human resources, preserving forest ecosystems, and limiting the construction of high-rise houses and hotels are essential for the long-term development of tourism in Mang Den," Mr. Ha said.

The Mang Den Tourism Association aims to attract approximately 2 million tourists annually by 2025. According to a Google search, the keywords "Mang Den" and "Mang Den tourism" have seen a more than 35% increase in search volume over the past 12 months. In 2023, the town of Mang Den welcomed one million tourists, according to the People's Committee of Kon Plong District, Kon Tum Province.

According to a survey by Musgo in the last week of August, many hotel rooms are still vacant for the September 2nd holiday in tourist destinations with direct flights. In Nha Trang and Da Nang, occupancy rates are around 40%. Similar figures were recorded in Phu Quoc and Ha Long. Some destinations easily accessible by road, such as Phan Thiet and Sa Pa, have occupancy rates above 80% and are filling up close to the holiday.
