In the first 5 months of the year, Samsung has launched 4 Galaxy S25 models, but that's not all. In the second half of this year, the company will continue to launch the 5th model called Galaxy S25 FE. This is the most affordable model expected, but it is superior to the same products in terms of software.
The Galaxy S25 FE will launch with a newer version of Android and One UI than the other S25 models. Previously, the 2022 Galaxy S21 FE also came with Android 12 instead of Android 11. The new firmware makes the phone eligible for the Android 16 and One UI 8 update, while the other S21 models do not get it.
This is because the Galaxy S21 FE is released more than a year later than the S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra. According to Sammobile , the Galaxy S25 FE gets new software thanks to the faster-than-usual development and release of One UI 8 (Android 16).
Android 16 (the base version of One UI 8) entered the Beta phase in May, about a month earlier than the Android 14 schedule last year. Not only the Galaxy S25 FE, all Samsung high-end devices launched in the second half of 2025, including the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, will all come with One UI 8 pre-installed right from the factory.
Additionally, since Samsung is committed to delivering major OS upgrades to its new flagships, the Galaxy S25 FE will be eligible for one more update. Specifically, the phone will be updated to Android 23, while the S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge models will stop at Android 22.
This advantage somewhat makes up for the fact that the Galaxy S25 FE may not have many major hardware upgrades. Leaked results have confirmed that the FE model will use the Exynos 2400 chip that was used on the Galaxy S24 series, instead of the Exynos 2500 of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 or the Snapdragon 8 Elite equipped on the remaining models in the S25 series.
However, in terms of software support, the Galaxy S25 FE is superior to its "brothers" in the same line. For a long-term device, that could be the key factor that makes many users consider choosing this high-end phone model later this year.
The Galaxy S25 FE is expected to have a thinner design than previous versions, providing a more comfortable grip without affecting performance and battery life. Users who want to experience the high-end Samsung line at a reasonable price can consider it.
