The 25-year-old Cameroon striker has shone at Brentford since joining the club in 2019.
Mbeumo has just had his most impressive season, with 20 goals and 8 assists in the 2024/25 Premier League.

Immediately after Mbeumo expressed his desire to join MU, the Red Devils' leadership approached Brentford to ask about the transfer price, to send an official offer.
The Bees want to earn £60m from this deal, even though Mbeumo only has one year left on his contract, with an option to extend it for another 12 months.
Mbeumo has also received interest from many clubs such as Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle. However, MU is holding the advantage.
According to The Times, Mbeumo is currently earning £50,000 a week at Gtech Stadium. He wants to increase his salary fivefold to £250,000 a week when he moves to Old Trafford.
This is a rather high demand in the context of the Red Devils wanting to tighten the salary fund. New recruit Matheus Cunha also only earns 200,000 pounds/week in the 5-year contract he just signed with MU.
Currently, the Red Devils leadership wants to liquidate a series of high-paid "big guys" at the club such as Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho or Antony.
