Dong Nai became a city on April 30, 2026. Becoming a city is not just a change in administrative designation; Dong Nai is ready to shoulder responsibility before the central government, the people, and the new development requirements of the country.

The Executive Committee of the Dong Nai City Party Committee issued Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU, dated May 1, 2026, on launching a special 500-day emulation campaign titled "Unity - Discipline - Efficiency - Breakthrough, building a civilized and modern Dong Nai," continuing to maintain and improve the quality of implementation until 2030 (hereinafter referred to as Resolution No. 05). This is a directive to concretize the Resolution of the First Congress of the Dong Nai Provincial (now City) Party Committee (2025-2030 term), the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, and the major policies of the Central Government on the development of the Southeast region, building a two-tiered local government, and achieving rapid and sustainable national development in the new period with concrete, measurable, and verifiable results in practice.

According to Huynh Thi Hang, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai City: Resolution No. 05 sets out very specific goals such as: tightening administrative discipline and order; implementing the "6 clear" principle, ensuring uniformity throughout the entire political system; enhancing responsibility and proactive spirit, striving for 98% of tasks to be completed on time, without prolonged backlog; striving for 100% of administrative procedures to be processed digitally; ensuring 100% of city-level dossiers and at least 90% of commune-level dossiers are processed electronically; monitoring 100% of key tasks using data; strengthening the application of technology in monitoring and evaluating the progress and quality of task implementation; encouraging innovation; striving for at least 20% of officials to have initiatives and solutions to improve work; unlocking resources, removing difficulties and obstacles; maintaining double-digit annual economic growth…

Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai City, Nguyen Van Ut, stated: "The special 500-day emulation campaign is not just a slogan or a formality, but a responsibility to the Party and the people, affirming Dong Nai's position in the region and the country. Resolution No. 05 is a call for unity and concerted action towards a common goal for the development of Dong Nai."

The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai City calls upon all members, affiliated organizations, people from all walks of life, the business community, religious institutions, influential figures, intellectuals, artists, the armed forces, and Fatherland Front officials at all levels to contribute an initiative, each unit a project, each residential area a good model, and each official a responsible action to jointly build Dong Nai City into a developed, civilized, modern, and happy city.
