Content enforcement tasks include detecting and removing information related to terrorism, child abuse, drugs, fraud, and scams. Meta says it will deploy these advanced AI systems across all its applications as soon as they consistently achieve superior performance compared to current enforcement methods.
In a blog post, Meta explained that: “While we still have human content reviewers, these systems will be better suited to handling tasks that are more suited to technology, such as the repetitive review of violent visual content or areas where hate actors frequently change tactics, such as drug sales or scams.”

This move demonstrates the company's efforts to optimize platform management processes through automation, particularly in content areas requiring quick response times and high accuracy.
Meta believes that new AI systems can detect more violations with greater accuracy, better prevent scams, and react more quickly to real-world events. Early trials have yielded promising results, with AI detecting twice as much adult sexual content as manual review teams, while reducing the error rate by over 60%.
Additionally, the system can identify and block fake accounts impersonating celebrities or influential individuals, and help prevent account hijacking by detecting unusual signals such as logging in from a new location, password changes, or profile modifications.
Every day, Meta's system can identify and mitigate approximately 5,000 phishing attempts aimed at stealing user login information. Alongside automation, Meta also launched the Meta AI assistant, which operates 24/7 to answer user questions globally through Facebook and Instagram apps on mobile and desktop platforms. This is a significant step towards improving the user experience in the context of increasingly complex community standards.
Although AI is taking over many processes, Meta maintains that humans still play an irreplaceable role in the most important decisions.
