Recently, international media reported on a global computer system outage, believed to be related to Microsoft's Windows operating system, disrupting many major services, such as airports, banks, and companies.
In Vietnam, on the afternoon of July 19th, Vietjet Airlines informed passengers that the global Microsoft system was experiencing disruptions, causing delays in flight procedures.
Accordingly, from approximately 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM (Vietnam time) on July 19th, the global Microsoft cloud system experienced a malfunction, affecting online booking and check-in processes for airlines worldwide.
By 2:30 PM, the system was back online; however, some flights had to adjust their schedules, and some flights experienced a chain reaction of disruptions.

Vietjet Airlines advises passengers planning to travel on July 19th to proactively monitor information in the "My Flights" section on the website www.vietjetair.com and the Vietjet Air mobile app, and to contact the call center if assistance is needed.
However, other Vietnamese airlines such as Vietnam Airlines , Vietravel Airlines, and Bamboo Airways have not yet reported any impact.
An industry expert said the reason is that Vietjet Air's booking system uses Microsoft cloud virtualization for online storage, while other airlines do not.
Speaking to a reporter from Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper about the cause of the system disruption, a Microsoft representative said: “We have identified an issue affecting Windows devices due to an update from a third-party software platform. We will have a solution to fix it soon.”
