(HNMO) - From this evening (June 13) until June 16 and 17, Hanoi and other provinces and cities in the North will experience moderate to heavy rain, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain. Provinces should be wary of the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today (June 13), Hanoi and other northern provinces and cities experienced rain, moderate rain, and in some places heavy rain. Due to the influence of a compressed low-pressure trough combined with upper-level wind convergence, from this evening until June 15, Hanoi will continue to experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms. The total rainfall for day and night on June 13 in Hanoi will generally be 40-70mm, with 30-50mm in the southern part of the city. On June 14, the total rainfall in the central and western parts of the city will be 30-50mm, while in the north and south it will be 20-40mm. From June 15 to 16, the intensity of rain in Hanoi will gradually decrease. The weather in Hanoi from now until June 16 will be relatively mild and cool, with the highest temperature not exceeding 34 degrees Celsius.
In the remaining provinces and cities of Northern Vietnam and Thanh Hoa province, from this evening until the end of the night of June 14th, there will be moderate to heavy rain, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms; the heaviest rainfall will occur in the evening and night. The meteorological and hydrological agency warns that widespread thunderstorms and localized heavy rain in Northern Vietnam and Thanh Hoa province may continue until June 16th and 17th. In addition to precautions against thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind, people and authorities should take precautions against flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in urban areas and low-lying regions.
