According to forecasts, starting next week, northern Vietnam will experience the strongest cold snap of the winter season so far, with temperatures dropping below 10 degrees Celsius in many areas.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on November 23rd, the Northwest region will be cloudy with scattered rain, clearing up in the afternoon with sunshine; light winds. It will be cold in the early morning and at night. The lowest temperature will be between 17 and 20 degrees Celsius, with some areas below 16 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature will be between 24 and 27 degrees Celsius.

The Northeast region will be mostly cloudy with no rain, clearing up in the afternoon with sunshine; light winds. It will be cold in the early morning and at night. The lowest temperature will be 18-21°C, 15-18°C in mountainous areas, and below 15°C in some places. The highest temperature will be 25-28°C. Looking further ahead, the meteorological agency predicts that from November 25th, this area is likely to experience a strong cold front, bringing scattered showers. Around the night of November 26th-28th, the weather will turn cold, with cold nights and mornings from November 29th onwards. This cold front will also cause temperatures in the North to drop by about 5-6°C, although some areas may experience lower temperatures. In Hanoi , the lowest temperature from November 26th to the end of November is 16-17 degrees Celsius. In Lang Son province, the lowest temperature from November 26th to the end of November is 10-11 degrees Celsius, and in Cao Bang, the lowest temperature is around 9-10 degrees Celsius. According to forecasts, cold air will affect the North at least during the last days of November and the beginning of December. In December, the North will continue to be affected by several cold fronts of increasing intensity. There is a high possibility of frost and ice appearing in many areas. During this period, the average temperature nationwide will generally be close to the multi-year average, except for December in the Northwest, Central, and South Central regions, which will be 0.5-1 degrees Celsius higher than the multi-year average.
