Implementing Resolution No. 55-NQ/TW dated February 11, 2020 of the Politburo on the strategic orientation of Vietnam's national energy development to 2030, with a vision to 2045 and Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, Petrolimex has carried out comprehensive digital transformation associated with the strategy of developing sustainable and smart energy. For Petrolimex, digital transformation is one of the important, breakthrough solutions to improve production and business efficiency, enhance customer experience and optimize system-wide operations.
With these orientations, Petrolimex has built a digital transformation strategy until 2030, with a vision to 2045; in which high technology is integrated into all areas of operation from sales, logistics to internal management.
In the past two years (2023 and 2024), Petrolimex has successfully implemented many key projects. A typical example is the application of electronic invoices for each sale - a breakthrough in enhancing transparency, risk management and improving customer experience. At the same time, the Group has promoted automation at warehouses and gas stations, developed a cashless payment system integrating RFID technology and smart cameras, applied the SMO order management system, BI smart reporting, expanded digital offices and effectively exploited software systems such as SAP-ERP, EGAS, PLXID and mobile applications.
Petrolimex has successfully integrated many modern payment methods such as bank cards, e-wallets, and QR codes. This meets the increasing needs of customers, creating convenience and safety in transactions. This is also a testament to the Group's rapid adaptation to the trend of smart consumption. Digitalization does not stop at business activities but also includes comprehensive data management capabilities. Petrolimex has built a modern data reporting and analysis system, supporting strategic decision making based on accurate and timely data.
In the period of 2025 - 2030, Petrolimex is preparing to synchronously deploy modern technologies and further automate operations and control. Accordingly, Petrolimex will implement a series of key projects such as: Installing automatic level gauges at storage tanks, screening pump columns at gas stations, researching solutions to prevent the wrong import of gasoline, applying tank truck bottom loading technology and testing Coriolis principle meters in road shipments. The Group is also preparing to deploy an automatic payment system via RFID technology, smart cameras at 100 gas stations with a large number of customers in major cities such as Hanoi , Hai Phong, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho - aiming to build a model of smart, modern gas stations; SMO order management; upgrading Petrolimex App Version 2; upgrading interface, digital office features; BI smart reporting; Converting digital documents of internal management regulations of the Group...
In addition, Petrolimex also promotes the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in a number of areas such as: inventory and logistics optimization; consumer behavior analysis to personalize services; quality monitoring and risk management, market simulation, support for oil price forecasting and resource planning according to different scenarios... In addition, Petrolimex has organized mandatory AI application training courses for all staff, from managers to workers, to improve labor productivity and technology adaptability.
In the next 10 years, the development strategy that Petrolimex is aiming for is expected to be based on 3 main pillars, including the technology and data pillars. Accordingly, Petrolimex will intelligentize management, platformize data and digitize operations. Specifically, Petrolimex applies artificial intelligence AI and Big Data in operations to analyze and forecast demand, optimize inventory, supply chain, determine flexible selling prices by region; automate transaction processing at stores, logistics, invoices, and quality control. The goal is that by 2028, AI will be applied in most key decision-making stages and by 2030, this rate will be 100%.
Petrolimex also focuses on exploiting customer data; building a CRM - energy customer relationship management system - integrating transaction data, behavior, location, vehicle; launching a national energy consumption analysis platform to serve market planning, marketing, and public policy. In addition, the group focuses on developing the Petrolimex+ digital platform; including building a unified mobile app for consumers in payment, location, maintenance registration, charging scheduling; a digital dashboard system (visual dashboard, helping to synthesize and present data in the form of charts, tables or indexes) to help business leaders monitor real-time performance, inventory, sales, and market trends.
With the vision of becoming the leading energy group in Vietnam in green, clean, high-quality, environmentally friendly energy products based on 4.0 technology platform, Petrolimex's comprehensive digital transformation strategy is expected to contribute significantly to supporting business management and administration, improving production and business efficiency of the entire Group in 2025 and the following years.
