The 2025 Mitsubishi Destinator SUV has been launched in Indonesia and is expected to be available in Vietnam this year. The car is attracting the attention of consumers. One of the issues that many people are interested in is the announced fuel consumption. The “heart” of the Mitsubishi Destinator is a 1.5L MIVEC Turbo gasoline engine with a capacity of 161 horsepower, combined with a CVT gearbox and front-wheel drive. This is a configuration aimed at economical and flexible operation in urban areas and enough power for long journeys.
During testing in Indonesia, the Mitsubishi Destinator showed impressive fuel consumption. When operating in the city at an average speed of about 25 km/h, the car reached 14.3 km/liter (equivalent to 7 liters/100 km). On the highway at a steady speed of 80 km/h, the consumption dropped to 16.4 km/liter (about 6.1 liters/100 km). In mixed conditions, on the long route Jakarta - Bandung (Indonesia) 141.1 km long, average speed 66 km/h and carrying 3 people and luggage, the car consumes about 15.6 km/liter (equivalent to 6.4 liters/100 km). All tests were performed under normal driving conditions, with the air conditioning on continuously. The test vehicle was the high-end Destinator Ultimate Premium, but all versions use a 1.5L turbocharged engine (161 horsepower, 250 Nm), so the consumption is almost the same. The test results show that Destinator is suitable for customers looking for an economical 7-seat SUV, serving daily travel as well as long trips. In addition, being equipped with many driving modes, including Tarmac mode (asphalt road), also helps the car accelerate flexibly and the steering wheel is more solid.
About Destinator 2025 - this is an SUV model positioned between Mitsubishi XForce and Pajero Sport, with the orientation of becoming an ideal choice for families looking for a versatile SUV, easy to operate and suitable for regional infrastructure conditions. The car has a modern design with spacious interior for all three rows of seats. 18-inch alloy wheels combined with a ground clearance of up to 214mm help the car easily overcome difficult terrain and cope well with urban flooding. In terms of amenities, the car is equipped with an electric panoramic sunroof, a multi-color interior lighting system (64 colors), a 12.3-inch central touch screen and an 8-inch digital dashboard. Notably, the high-end Yamaha Dynamic Sound sound system provides a vivid entertainment experience.
Mitsubishi Destinator is also equipped with an advanced driver assistance package (ADAS) by Mitsubishi, aiming at the safety and comfort of the driver and passengers. The suspension system has been fine-tuned to suit the specific operating conditions in the Southeast Asian market, providing smoothness and stability when moving on complex roads. In terms of dimensions, the car has an overall length of 4,680 mm, width of 1,840 mm, height of 1,780 mm and a wheelbase of 2,815 mm. Compared to models of the same brand, Mitsubishi Destinator is larger than XForce and only slightly inferior to Pajero Sport in length and height. Mitsubishi Destinator is expected to be introduced in Vietnam soon. This will be a notable addition to the 7-seat SUV segment when combining modern design elements, flexible operation and a price that can compete strongly in the mid-range.
