Free opening of the Imperial Citadel at night and cannon fire at Hue Flag Tower on the occasion of April 30th

On April 24, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center announced that it will open the Imperial Citadel for free at night and organize a cannon fire show at the Hue Flag Tower during the April 30 - May 1 holiday this year.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center will open its doors to visitors free of charge at Thieu Phuong Garden, Co Ha Garden and the Interior Palace (Hue Imperial City). Visiting hours are from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the evening, for 6 consecutive nights from April 26 to May 1, 2025.

On this occasion, at Thieu Phuong garden, there will be an orchid exhibition; demonstration and introduction of the art of tea drinking. At Co Ha garden, there will be an exhibition of bonsai and ornamental rocks. At the Interior Palace, there will be exhibitions and demonstrations of Hue craft products; experiential and culinary activities. This is an opportunity for visitors to explore the royal space shimmering in the lights and enjoy the beauty of architecture and nature at night.

In particular, from April 26, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center will organize a pyrotechnics performance, shooting cannon fire at the Hue Flag Tower. This exciting activity will be maintained every Saturday and on major national holidays to serve the people and tourists.

For the convenience of organization, the unit also notes that people and tourists when visiting the Imperial City at night should move in from Hien Nhon gate, park their motorbikes in Doan Thi Diem street area according to the instructions of security guards; park their cars in the Eo Bau Nam Xuong parking lot.

Hue City Department of Tourism said that during the April 30 - May 1 holiday this year, people will have 5 days off (from April 30 - May 4, 2025) equivalent to the 2024 holiday. It is expected that during this holiday, Hue City will welcome about 150,000 visitors, with estimated revenue of about 300 billion VND.
