To meet production requirements in the new situation and with support from central and local programs and policies, many models of crop and livestock restructuring towards adapting to climate change and improving efficiency have had many positive changes.

The Provincial Agricultural Extension Center advises the Department of Agriculture and Environment and local agricultural extension stations to proactively coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment... to propose to authorities at all levels to develop and deploy the application of technical advances in agricultural extension models at the provincial and district levels.

This is also a step to concretize the resolutions on developing the agricultural sector of the province and district in the direction of commodity production, improving the quality of products with economic value; ensuring food hygiene and safety from the production stage, mechanization, digital transformation in agricultural production to continuously increase productivity, quality, production efficiency, create jobs, increase income for workers...

In order to guide farmers to gradually switch to organic agricultural production to protect the production environment, ecological environment, protect human health, and improve economic efficiency, the Quang Tri Agricultural Extension Center has coordinated with Quang Tri Trading Corporation to deploy organic rice production models and apply digital transformation in agricultural production. Overcoming many initial difficulties and challenges, the joint models demonstrating new technologies and new farming methods were successful as expected.

Moreover, the influence of the models has spread quickly to farmers who are more or less affected by the Industrial Revolution 4.0, so in the following crop, farmers in Quang Tri province have applied science and technology to organic rice production. Up to now, the area of ​​organic rice in the whole province is about 500 hectares, with organic rice yield reaching more than 6 tons/ha.

Director of Quang Tri Agricultural Extension Center Tran Can said: Organic production is an inevitable trend in agricultural production, both providing high productivity and ensuring sustainable development. Therefore, after participating in demonstration models, people will replicate the models themselves. Successful demonstration models of agricultural extension themselves effectively lead to new production development directions for farmers.

Over the years, the province's agricultural economy has continued to grow appropriately, demonstrated by the increase in productivity, quality and income value from agricultural products. The structure of crops and livestock has been transformed to suit climate change and diverse market demands.

Localities with competitive advantages have developed production well through specialized areas of key agricultural products with strengths associated with the OCOP Program. Up to now, all districts, towns and cities in the province have many OCOP products meeting 3-star standards or higher, creating great added value for production.

To achieve that success, in addition to the right production orientation, we must also mention the role of transferring and applying scientific and technological advances to production, in which agricultural extension models play a very important role.

Over the years, the Agricultural Extension Center has coordinated with all levels and sectors to organize and implement models of applying scientific and technical advances and field workshops for thousands of farmers in the province.

Through this, farmers are equipped with more knowledge about livestock, crop cultivation, forestry, aquaculture, especially new models of plant and animal production, new production processes according to organic standards, biosafety, circular agriculture...

Thanks to that, the structure of crops and livestock in the whole province has shifted in the right direction towards increasing output and value; forming commodity production areas with product consumption connections such as: intensive cattle and pig farming, 2-phase shrimp farming, yellowfin pompano farming, organic rice production, intensive orange farming for food safety... Many new technologies have been applied and become popular such as: water-saving irrigation, automatic irrigation technology, mist irrigation, drip irrigation, biological bedding in livestock farming...

It can be affirmed that agricultural extension work is playing the role of a bridge to bring scientific knowledge to farmers, contributing significantly to the successful construction of production models, promoting the application of scientific and technical advances in production to improve productivity, quality and efficiency; organizing production linkages associated with the consumption of agricultural products... helping people produce and consume agricultural products better and better and develop sustainably, increase income, improve life, and promote the process of building new rural areas in the province.
