As a native of Dak Lak, Miss H'Hen Niê sincerely shared: "Coffee has changed the lives of many people in Dak Lak, including my family." She confided that back home, at 5 am, the rooster would crow, her mother would wake up, and her father would take the coffee her mother roasted to brew for the whole family to enjoy, then they would discuss work. That moment also made her feel homesick and warm.
In Ho Chi Minh City, where she lives and works, coffee is also very popular among the people. As an ambassador for the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, she hopes to contribute to bringing positive impacts to the coffee industry of her province and Vietnam.
This year's "Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival" also features the participation of many coffee businesses from Dak Lak, striving to elevate agricultural products, reach international markets, and create sustainable livelihoods for farmers.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Hoang Danh Huu, director of EDE Farm Trading and Service Company Limited, said that the company has successfully exported a 20-foot container with 18,000 packages of Miss Ede roasted and ground coffee to the US market, and will soon be entering Sweden and other European countries.
These are finished coffee products, not processed, labeled, or made from raw materials. The coffee is produced from sustainably managed farms that do not encroach on natural forests, reduce carbon emissions, utilize modern farming practices, and create a positive shift in the local economy.
According to the General Department of Customs, coffee export turnover in 2024 reached a record high of 5.2 billion USD, for the first time in history. The Vietnamese coffee industry is on track to surpass its own record in 2025.
