Based on regulations from the Ministry of Education and Training, Block B, in addition to the three-subject combination of Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology, is further divided into several other combinations. Specifically, Block B is currently divided into 8 subject combinations for university entrance exams as follows:

The subjects considered for admission to B01 are: Mathematics, Biology, and History.
B02 admission criteria include the following subjects: Mathematics, Biology, and Geography.
B03 admission criteria include the following subjects: Mathematics, Biology, and Literature.
The subjects considered for admission to B04 are: Mathematics, Biology, and Civic Education.
B05 admission criteria include the following subjects: Mathematics, Biology, and Social Sciences .
The subjects considered for admission to B08 are: Mathematics, Biology, and English.

Accordingly, Block B03 consists of three main subjects: Mathematics, Biology, and Literature, and has been included in university admissions since 2017. Compared to other expanded exam blocks, B03 is considered to offer a wide variety of professions and universities.

Before 2017, the B03 subject group consisted of three subjects: Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry. Replacing Chemistry with Literature was seen as a breath of fresh air, making the exam preparation less dry and challenging for candidates.

Those pursuing a career in medicine and pharmacy will gain a deeper understanding of society and life, learn more about interpersonal relationships, and develop a more humane approach to social interactions.

Some majors recruit students from group B03.

When choosing a major, you need to thoroughly research the relevant information about the field you intend to enroll in. This is because your chosen field of study will be directly related to your future career. Currently, many majors in the B03 subject group are open to applications, offering candidates a wide range of choices.

Some of the prominent fields include: Pharmacy, Nursing, Biotechnology, Primary Education, Biology Education, Business Administration, Medical Laboratory Technology, Aquaculture, and Resource and Environmental Management.

These fields of study are currently being offered by many universities, including Hanoi University of Business and Technology, University of Science (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), Hanoi Pedagogical University, Duy Tan University, and Hong Duc University.
