Thanh Hoa FC and HAGL avoid relegation.

Thanh Hoa and Hoang Anh Gia Lai clubs officially secured their place in the V.League 2025-2026 after round 25.

On the afternoon of May 31st, the V.League 2025-2026 confirmed that two more teams, Thanh Hoa and Hoang Anh Gia Lai, have secured their place in the league for next season. The battle to avoid relegation is now down to three teams: Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and PVF CAND. All three teams have 21 points.

Thanh Hoa FC lost to Ninh Binh 0-2 at home. Nguyen Duc Chien and Nguyen Quoc Viet scored the goals that helped the team from the ancient capital secure 3 points, reclaiming third place in the standings.

Despite the defeat, Thanh Hoa is still guaranteed to avoid relegation due to favorable results in other matches. Specifically, Da Nang only managed to secure 1 point away from home against Ha Tinh (0-0 draw), while Becamex Ho Chi Minh City lost 1-2 to Hanoi Police FC at Hang Day Stadium (Hanoi).

Thanh Hoa FC is 4 points clear of the relegation zone with only one round remaining in the season. Therefore, coach Mai Xuan Hop's team is guaranteed to avoid relegation.

Meanwhile, Hoang Anh Gia Lai unexpectedly defeated Hanoi FC 3-1. Do Hoang Hen scored the opening goal for the capital city team at the end of the first half. However, an own goal by Nguyen Thanh Chung and two goals from Gia Bao and Gabriel Conceicao helped HAGL turn the tide in the second half.

The team from the mountainous region has 26 points after this victory, ranking 10th in the standings. Like Thanh Hoa, HAGL is guaranteed to avoid relegation even with one round remaining.

The relegation battle is down to just three teams: Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, PVF CAND, and Da Nang. All three clubs have 21 points. In the final round, Da Nang will face Thanh Hoa at home, PVF CAND will play SLNA away, and Becamex Ho Chi Minh City will host Hoang Anh Gia Lai.

According to the format of V.League 2025-2026, the direct relegation spot is for the team at the bottom of the standings. The second-to-last team (13) will play a play-off with the runner-up of the First Division, Bac Ninh club.
