The Daily Mail reports that Manchester United will have to activate Cunha's release clause of up to £62.5 million to sign him. If the deal progresses well, MU will finalize the transfer in May. The Old Trafford club is confident that they can still ensure profitability and sustainability if they sign Cunha.

Newcastle are direct competitors of Manchester United in the pursuit of Cunha. The Magpies have expressed interest and plan to use the 25-year-old as a left winger. However, Cunha seems to have been convinced by the prospect of being part of manager Ruben Amorim's plans.

The former Sporting manager also expressed his admiration for Cunha, praising his versatility and goal-scoring ability. Last weekend, Amorim was also seen chatting with Cunha after the Manchester United vs. Wolves match at Old Trafford.
