Accomplices include: Nguyen Thi Tra My (born in 1984, residing in Huong Xuan ward, Huong Tra town), Duong Manh Hung (born in 1994, residing in Tan Lien commune, Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province), Duong Van Ngoc (born in 1990, residing in Vy Da ward, Hue city).
According to the indictment, on January 15, 2022, Phung and My hired Hung and Ngoc to deliver drugs for a fee of 100,000 - 500,000 VND/time. Hung and Ngoc used a motorbike with license plate 75M1-031.66 to go to Phung and My's rented room to get drugs and deliver them 11 times to many buyers in Thua Thien Hue province.
The amount of drugs that Phung gave to Hung and Ngoc to sell but had not sold all and were caught red-handed was 38.1324 grams of MDMA, 20.4777 grams of Ketamine. Searching and seizing at Phung's residence were 21.7156 grams of MDMA and 28.0949 grams of Ketamine.
The amount of drugs My gave Hung and Ngoc to sell but did not sell all of them and were caught red-handed was 30.0579 grams of MDMA and 10.1605 grams of Ketamine.
In addition, on April 4, 2021, Phung hired Ho Duc Huy to receive a package of drugs from a woman of unknown origin to sell. The amount of drugs Phung delivered to Huy when caught red-handed and seized during a search of Huy's residence was 39.9565 grams of MDMA and 62.4592 grams of Ketamine.
The total amount of drugs that the defendants must bear criminal responsibility for is: Doan Gia Phung 99.8045 grams of MDMA, 109.8138 grams of Ketamine; Nguyen Thi Tra My 30.0579 grams of MDMA, 10.1605 grams of Ketamine; Duong Manh Hung and Duong Van Ngoc 68.1903 grams of MDMA, 30.6382 grams of Ketamine.
It is known that the defendants are all drug addicts, buying and selling drugs to get money for drug use. At the trial, the defendants confessed honestly, repented, and asked for the lightest sentence within the penalty range.
Considering the defendants’ actions to be particularly serious, the Trial Panel sentenced the defendants Doan Gia Phung to 17 years in prison, Nguyen Thi Tra My to 10 years in prison, Duong Manh Hung to 10 years in prison, and Duong Van Ngoc to 9 years in prison. All defendants were charged with the same crime of “Illegal drug trafficking”.
