| Authorities in Son Thuy commune are stationed at flooded areas to control people passing through the region. |
Of these, Trung Ha commune suffered the most damage with 15 houses, followed by Bach Xa with 7 houses, Tri Phu with 4 houses, and the remaining damage occurred in Yen Nguyen, Xin Man, Niem Son, and Bach Xa communes. The heavy rain also resulted in one person missing and damage to crops, school buildings, and cultural centers.
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, the People's Committees of the communes directed and assigned officials to go to the affected areas to assess the situation and instruct the villages to compile damage statistics; support and guide the people in overcoming the consequences of the natural disaster. At the same time, they organized the relocation of people to safe places and arranged temporary food and accommodation for households that had to be urgently evacuated.
Forecasts for the next 48 hours indicate continued moderate to heavy rain in the southern communes of the province, with some areas experiencing very heavy rainfall. Rainfall amounts are generally between 30-80mm, with some areas exceeding 100mm. There is a very high risk of landslides, especially in areas with steep terrain; and localized flooding in low-lying areas.
In response to heavy rainfall, local authorities have strengthened their 24/7 emergency response teams to closely monitor weather developments and handle information promptly. When situations arise, they are implementing the "four on-the-spot" principle to minimize damage caused by natural disasters.
