VnExpressVnExpress27/05/2023

Tay Ninh Sun World Ba Den Mountain is organizing a series of cultural and artistic programs on June 3-4, coinciding with ceremonial activities at the temples on Ba Den Mountain.

The Buddha's Birthday celebration, also known as Vesak, is held annually in the fourth lunar month to commemorate the birth of Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha. This is a significant event for Buddhists and is celebrated with numerous activities. This year, a series of cultural and artistic programs will be held on the mountaintop to celebrate the Buddha's Birthday at the temples on Ba Mountain.

According to the organizers, on the evenings of June 3rd and 4th (corresponding to the 16th and 17th of the fourth lunar month), visitors and Buddhists to Ba Mountain will participate in a lantern parade at the square at the foot of the statue of the Goddess of Mercy on Tay Bo Da Son Mountain. This activity commemorates and honors the Buddha and expresses wishes and prayers for good fortune and peace.

Sun World Ba Den Mountain has specially crafted 2,000 wooden lanterns for Buddhists and tourists to assemble themselves, write their prayers, and perform the ritual of offering and releasing the lanterns into the water dishes at the foot of the statue of the Goddess of Mercy.

Thousands of lanterns will illuminate the water dishes, shining a golden-plated Prajnaparamita Sutra column with a pedestal rising from the underground lecture hall into the largest water dish in the center of the square on top of Mount Ba.

Following this was an art program themed "Thousands of Radiant Lights," featuring folk dances such as lantern dances and flower offering dances. In addition, there were many dance and song performances with songs imbued with Buddhist spirit, presented by artists from Ho Chi Minh City.

In addition to participating in activities, tourists and Buddhists can also admire the complex of spiritual structures on Ba Den Mountain under an artistic lighting system, the first of its kind in Vietnam. 3,500 LED lights and more than 480 recessed floor lights will create a unique light show.

To support the program, the price of the Sun World Ba Den Mountain cable car ticket to the mountaintop in the evening is now only 200,000 VND for adults and 100,000 VND for children.

Mount Ba Den is one of the spiritual symbols of Southern Vietnam, associated with the legend of Linh Son Thanh Mau Bodhisattva. At the summit is a magnificent complex of spiritual structures, including the tallest bronze statue of the Goddess of Mercy in Asia and a four-story Buddhist exhibition at its base. Here, visitors can explore the world of Buddhism through cutting-edge technologies such as 3D video mapping, holograms, and simulated versions of classic Buddhist works from Vietnam and around the world.
