Repairing electrical and refrigeration equipment is a stable job, but it's quite strenuous, dangerous, and requires a good understanding of electricity, electronics, and mechanics. With the arrival of summer, these repair technicians become very busy with their work.

Having worked in the refrigeration and air conditioning repair business for over 13 years, Mr. Huynh Trung Hieu, residing in Rach Gia ward, has earned the trust of his customers through his conscientious work and constant care for them. Following Mr. Hieu and his assistants to customers' homes to install air conditioners, we couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for the potentially dangerous and arduous work in the scorching sun. Despite this, everyone was dedicated and enthusiastic, and joy was evident on the faces of the technicians after each completed job.

According to Mr. Hieu, air conditioning installation is peak season in the summer, but the hot weather makes the work very difficult for the technicians. The job also carries inherent dangers because it involves frequently climbing onto rooftops, assembling machines in difficult locations, and exposure to electricity, dust, toxic gases, and heavy machinery. If the operation is done incorrectly, the power supply is not disconnected, or the system is not handled according to procedure, workplace accidents can happen at any time. "Air conditioning technicians help bring comfort to people during the hot summer days, but carelessness can affect one's own life," Mr. Hieu said.

At the age of 19, Hieu followed an acquaintance to repair refrigeration equipment, learning the trade and thus developing a passion for refrigeration repair. Without formal training, driven by his passion for engineering and mechanics, and his eagerness to learn, Hieu independently researched the operating principles of circuit boards and compressors, accumulating experience from practical work. Over time, he became proficient in the trade. After a few years as an apprentice, Hieu boldly started his own business, giving him the opportunity to develop his любимое profession.

Initially, he faced many difficulties and didn't have many customers, but he didn't give up, prioritizing reputation and quality in his work. Currently, Mr. Hieu's team consists of three people, including him as the main technician and two assistants. They repair and install a wide variety of electrical appliances and equipment such as air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, and household electrical appliances for families, offices, and businesses at competitive prices. In addition, Mr. Hieu is willing to supply customers who want to purchase machinery and accessories at preferential prices. On average, Mr. Hieu earns about 15 million VND per month from repairing and installing electrical appliances. Although skilled and well-known to many customers, Mr. Hieu constantly learns and improves his knowledge and techniques, because with the continuous development of technology, electrical appliances are constantly being improved.

According to Bui Huu Toan, a resident of Chau Thanh commune who works in the refrigeration and air conditioning repair business: "The need for air conditioners and refrigerators has become essential, so the refrigeration and air conditioning repair profession has a thriving market. However, with many private companies and businesses now operating in this field, competition is high, making it more difficult to earn a living than before."

Hard work, hazardous conditions, and dangers are commonplace for air conditioning technicians. They work outdoors daily in hot, harsh weather, constantly facing lurking hazards such as high voltage, falls while climbing, etc. The installation location for air conditioner outdoor units is often dangerous and difficult to access, such as on balconies or near hazardous areas.

The work doesn't follow fixed hours; it depends on appointments. When a customer calls, they go, even in the evenings, on weekends, and holidays. Sometimes, Toan and his colleagues quickly eat a sandwich so they can quickly repair or install machines, minimizing the time wasted for customers.

According to Mr. Toan, to excel and achieve success in the air conditioning repair profession, technicians need good health, perseverance, meticulousness, caution, and a high sense of responsibility. Each air conditioner malfunction has dozens of different causes, and a skilled technician must be patient enough to identify the exact problem and fix it completely. Besides skill, a dedicated and attentive service attitude is what earns a technician the trust of customers. The trust and satisfaction of customers is also the joy and motivation that has driven Mr. Toan to stay in the profession for over 10 years.

For skilled craftsmen, a full schedule from morning till night can bring in a considerable income, sometimes earning over 1 million VND a day. Despite the hard work, constant danger, and sweat soaking their shirts, smiles remain on their faces because of the well-deserved income.
