The Trump administration on June 15 directed the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to stop arresting immigrants working at farms, restaurants and hotels due to concerns that the crackdown on illegal immigrants is harming important industries, CBS News reported.
"The pause on workplace immigration raids applies to the agriculture , hotel and restaurant industries, which rely heavily on immigrant workers, many of whom are in the United States illegally," the source said.

The decision comes as the crackdown on illegal immigration has sparked protests against ICE operations in major cities across the United States, including Los Angeles, where President Trump has ordered the deployment of the National Guard and Marines to respond to incidents of violence.

At a White House event earlier this week, President Trump hinted at an upcoming decision to protect farms and hotels that rely on immigrant labor.
"We will follow President Trump's direction and continue our efforts to remove the worst illegal immigrant criminals from America's streets," said Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin.
