This was one of the deadliest bombings in the Gulf region since fighting broke out between the two sides.

A Kuwaiti health ministry spokesperson said on Wednesday that seven seriously injured patients had been scheduled for emergency surgery.

The Indian Embassy in Kuwait confirmed that one of its citizens died in the attack. The diplomatic mission stated that it is "maintaining close contact with the victim's family" and coordinating with local authorities to "deploy all necessary support measures," according to CNN .

Kuwait's state news agency ( KUNA ), citing sources from the defense ministry, reported that the attacks severely damaged part of Terminal 1 at Kuwait Airport.

Earlier, RT reported that Tehran targeted US military equipment after the Ministry of War declared a "self-defense attack" on an Iranian island.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claims to have attacked US military assets in the Persian Gulf in retaliation for actions taken by the US.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said that forces on the ground intercepted multiple Iranian ballistic missiles and drones, and also conducted "self-defense strikes" in response to attacks on Qeshm Island.

The US fired Hellfire missiles at an Iranian oil tanker.

Tensions flared after a U.S. fighter jet fired a Hellfire missile at a tanker believed to belong to Iran near the Strait of Hormuz late Tuesday, damaging the engine room.

Washington asserted that the M/T Lexie, flying the Botswana flag, was then moving toward Kharg Island, violating the blockade imposed by the United States.

In retaliation, the IRGC launched naval missiles at the Panaya – a ship believed to be linked to the U.S. U.S. forces then bombed an IRGC telecommunications tower, an action described by CENTCOM as "self-defense attacks on an Iranian military ground control post on Qeshm Island."

The situation escalated when the IRGC launched a barrage of ballistic missiles at a "US air and helicopter base in a country in the region," while also targeting the "5th Fleet command center" located in Bahrain.

Despite the actual damage in Kuwait, the US War Department issued a statement claiming that all of Iran's missiles missed their targets. The US side stated that two missiles aimed at Kuwait either crashed prematurely or exploded in flight, while three missiles targeting Bahrain were successfully intercepted by US and Bahraini air defenses.

The Kuwaiti military confirmed it was deploying a response to the missile and drone attacks. Meanwhile, the Bahraini Interior Ministry urged citizens to "remain calm."

A number of Middle Eastern countries condemned Iran's attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain.

Following intense bombing raids by Iran that injured dozens and killed at least one person, many countries in the region have unanimously voiced strong condemnations of Tehran.

Kuwait's Foreign Ministry criticized the Iranian attacks as "blatant aggression" targeting civilian infrastructure and damaging a diplomatic mission. The ministry warned that such actions would escalate tensions and threaten regional stability.

Kuwait's Foreign Ministry announced the expulsion, demanding that the two Iranian diplomats immediately leave the country.

Kuwait's Deputy Foreign Minister affirmed that this was a direct response to Iran's repeated missile and drone attacks. Earlier, Kuwaiti officials had also summoned Iran's acting ambassador to deliver a strongly worded protest.

Neighboring countries including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar all issued statements strongly condemning the attack, accusing Iran of violating international law and the Geneva Convention on the Protection of Diplomatic Facilities.

On the same day, the foreign ministries of Jordan and Yemen accused Tehran of revealing its terrorist nature, posing a direct threat to the territorial integrity of its neighbors.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun also spoke out against the attack on these civilian targets, calling it a violation of the principles of international law between brotherly nations.

Iran sets conditions

Indirect negotiations between the US and Iran remain stalled with no signs of progress, despite US President Donald Trump's assertion that the two sides maintain channels of communication.

In an interview with the New York Post published on Wednesday, Trump said that Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei was involved in negotiations to end the hostilities, and expressed a desire for a face-to-face meeting with the Ayatollah.

Contrary to statements from Washington, Iranian media have consistently poured cold water on speculation about a peace agreement.

The semi-official Tasnim news agency revealed on Wednesday that Iran has not responded at all to any agreement documents from the US side for several days. The source emphasized that, due to Israeli attacks on Lebanon, Iran has proactively suspended the exchange of documents through intermediaries until its demands regarding Lebanon are met.

In a similar vein, the semi-official Mehr news agency, citing sources close to the Iranian negotiating delegation, reported that the memorandum between Tehran and Washington aimed at ending the war "is still at the discussion stage." Iran insists it will only agree to sign if tangible benefits are achieved.

Earlier, officials revealed to CNN that Trump had requested revisions to several clauses in the draft agreement after a meeting with advisers last Friday, causing negotiations to continue to drag on.

Although the details of the amendments are classified, US officials confirmed that Trump insisted on a tougher commitment from Iran regarding its nuclear program and demanded that Tehran reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

While diplomatic efforts stalled, Iran warned: "Any act of aggression will be met with a different and more severe retaliation. What has just happened is proof and a costly lesson for all parties."
