The White House issued the statement after a meeting between Trump and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, stressing that the agreement is a clear demonstration of the US commitment to strengthening its partnership with Saudi Arabia.
The White House said the “largest defense sale in history” would provide Saudi Arabia with advanced combat equipment and services from more than 10 U.S. defense companies. The deal covers five main areas: improving the capabilities of the Saudi air force and space force, air and missile defense, maritime and coastal security, border security and army modernization, and upgrading Saudi Arabia’s information and communications systems.
In addition, the agreement also includes training and support to strengthen the Saudi military's capabilities, including opening more military schools and military medical facilities.
