With global tourism significantly impacted by the conflict in the Middle East, international tourists are shifting their focus to safer regions. Simultaneously, domestic tourism is increasingly gravitating towards destinations within Vietnam. This could be a turning point if Vietnam's tourism industry can capitalize on and seize this opportunity.

After merging with Binh Dinh, Gia Lai province now possesses a dual highland-coastal ecosystem, along with many favorable factors for tourism development. This is shaping a strategic development space of the scale of "blue sea connected to vast forests," opening up enormous tourism development potential.

This is not merely a spatial connection, but the construction of a complete and seamless tourism value chain; it is the connection and enhancement of the strengths of the cultural, historical, and revolutionary heritage of two regions: Binh Dinh, the land of martial arts rich in tradition, and the majestic Central Highlands. Tourists can experience the unique cultural and ecological destinations of the Central Highlands mountains and forests, or the famous historical and revolutionary sites in the "land of martial arts and literature," as well as high-end beach and island resorts in the coastal region.

To avoid falling behind, Gia Lai needs to quickly implement various solutions and realize the value of its tourism resources into valuable products. Accordingly, Gia Lai needs to leverage the role of destination management agencies in organizing and coordinating stakeholders to create synergy and promote the implementation of tourism development solutions.

Travel businesses need to quickly research and develop tourism products in Gia Lai that are suitable for the target market. More broadly, international tourists are increasingly seeking multi-experience tourism, combining relaxation with exploring nature, culture, and agriculture. High-end resort products combined with local cultural experiences will create unique and distinctive destinations on the national tourism map.

Gia Lai needs to define its tourism value chain to develop high-quality products, thereby enhancing the value of the destination. Developing interconnected tourism products is the decisive factor. The combination of the blue sea and the vast forests, if properly exploited, will create a unique series of experiences, increasing the length of stay and spending of tourists.

To overcome the inherent weakness of "early bedtime" in tourism in the Central Highlands and many other destinations nationwide, it is necessary to develop nighttime economic activities. Gia Lai, like other provinces and cities, needs to plan more pedestrian streets, night markets, and local food zones; combining experiential spaces with the exploitation of indigenous cultural values such as gong music and martial arts.

It can be said that Gia Lai currently possesses all the elements of "favorable timing, geographical advantages, and human resources" to create a breakthrough tourism growth pole for the South Central region and the entire country.
