Improving the quality of activities of the Vietnam Farmers' Union in the new period

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Vice President of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Pham Tien Nam emphasized: The 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Union was a great success. The Congress discussed and approved the Resolution and documents of the Congress. Notably, before the Congress, on December 20, 2023, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 46-NQ/TW on innovating and improving the quality of activities of the Vietnam Farmers' Union to meet the requirements of revolutionary tasks in the new period. Implementing Resolution No. 46 of the Politburo, on February 20, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Decision 182-QD-TTg approving the Project "Vietnam Farmers' Union participates in developing collective economy in agriculture until 2030".

"It can be said that these are extremely important contents that guide and direct the activities of the Association and the farmers' movement in the coming years. To concretize, the Executive Committee and the Central Standing Committee of the Association have focused on leading and directing the development and promulgation of the Action Program and the implementation plan for Resolution No. 46, Resolution of the 8th Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Union; the entire working program of the Central Executive Committee of the Association for the 2023-2028 term; and the implementation plan for Decision 182 of the Prime Minister ", Vice President Pham Tien Nam emphasized.

According to Vice President Pham Tien Nam, the online conference to study, learn and disseminate the Resolution is extremely important for cadres, members, farmers, especially key cadres of the Association at all levels. Therefore, the implementation of studying, studying, disseminating and propagating the Resolution must be carried out seriously, focusing on clarifying and grasping the viewpoints, core contents, general goals, major orientations, key tasks, and main targets, in order to concretize the implementation, promptly and effectively create a suitable atmosphere for the tasks of each level of the Association, each locality of the Association, creating a vibrant emulation movement at all levels of the Association right from the first year to successfully implement Resolution 46 of the Politburo, Resolution of the 8th Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and Decision 182 of the Prime Minister.

At the conference, comrade Luong Quoc Doan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation, Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, disseminated Resolution No. 46 dated December 20, 2023 of the Politburo on "Innovating to improve the quality of activities of the Vietnam Farmers' Union to meet the requirements of revolutionary tasks in the new period".

Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Luong Quoc Doan informed about the context of the birth of Resolution 46, the situation of agriculture, farmers, rural areas, the development status of the Vietnam Farmers' Union; the process of building the Project, the draft Resolution to submit to the Politburo; the basic contents of Resolution 46 of the Politburo.

Accordingly, regarding the guiding viewpoints of Resolution 46, there are 3 groups of viewpoints. That is: Ensuring the Party's leadership over the Farmers' Association and the farmers' movement; Improving the material and spiritual life of farmers and building the association organization is the responsibility of the political and social system under the leadership of the Party, in which the main and direct ones are the Party committees, authorities and executive boards of the Farmers' Association at all levels.

Strengthen the responsibility of the Farmers' Association in representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests and promoting the mastery of farmers; encourage and support farmers to perform well their role as the subject and center of the process of agricultural development, rural economy, sustainable new rural construction and rural industrialization, urbanization, and international integration; contribute to building an alliance between the working class, the peasantry and the intelligentsia, and serve as a solid bridge between the Party and farmers.

Strengthen the core political role of the association in the farmers' movement; improve efficiency, innovate content and methods of operation; perfect the organizational apparatus, build a team of association officials, develop the organization and develop members to meet the requirements and revolutionary tasks in the new period.
