The 2024 Lao Cai Province Law Knowledge Contest on Ethnic Affairs was organized with the aim of diversifying the forms of legal education and dissemination for ethnic minority communities in Lao Cai province. This is an opportunity for officials working in legal education to exchange knowledge, learn from each other, share experiences in legal education and dissemination at the grassroots level, accumulate more knowledge, and find effective methods and models for replication throughout the province.

The competition also provides an opportunity for participating teams to further enhance their legal knowledge, grasp regulations regarding their responsibilities and rights in the performance of their duties; develop skillful interpersonal skills and the ability to conduct public awareness campaigns; and raise awareness of the importance of ethnic affairs and legal awareness campaigns at the grassroots level, contributing to changing the behavior of ethnic minorities in complying with the law.

Nine teams from nine districts, towns, and cities in the province participated in the competition. Each team had a maximum of 20 members, including officials and employees working in legal education, culture, social affairs, information, and communication from various units; village heads and deputy heads; representatives of mass organizations; and influential figures among ethnic minority communities.

The competing teams will participate in three rounds: a greeting round, a knowledge round on laws and ethnic policies, and finally, a short skit round. At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee will select the team with the highest score to participate in the Northwest Regional round, organized by the Committee for Ethnic Minorities.

Lao Cai will organize a competition to learn about laws related to ethnic affairs in mid-December 2024.
