The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has just announced the completion of phase 1 of the two projects "Enhancing Sports " and "Lighting Up Countryside Roads", and launched cooperation programs in 2023.
10 community sports fields have been handed over to the provinces of Thai Binh , Khanh Hoa, Bac Giang, Binh Dinh, Tuyen Quang, Dak Lak, Soc Trang, Dong Thap, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An.
The "Sports Step Up" project commits to supporting the upgrading of 30 community sports fields in 30 provinces and cities nationwide in the period 2022 - 2024.
As of August 2023, the project has completed 1/3 of the journey with 10 courses handed over to the provinces of Thai Binh, Khanh Hoa, Bac Giang, Binh Dinh, Tuyen Quang, Dak Lak, Soc Trang , Dong Thap, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An.
Launched in July 2022, the "Lighting up the Countryside" project aims to support Vietnam's green growth goals (2021 - 2023) and the national program on "Building new rural areas" for the period 2021 - 2025.
In phase 1 of the project, 34 km of roads using solar lights were installed, helping to improve socio-economic infrastructure in rural areas in 34 provinces and cities, providing a safer living environment for more than 210,000 households in the project area, indirectly supporting thousands of people in neighboring areas.
It is expected that by the end of this year, an additional 39 km of solar-powered lighting routes will be deployed in 29 provinces and cities, including lighting systems installed at 10 community sports fields in 10 provinces and cities within the framework of the "Sports Step Up" project, phase 1.
The Sports Promotion Project and "Lighting up the Countryside" are two key projects in the 3-year strategic cooperation program (2022 - 2024) between the Central Youth Union and Saigon Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation (Sabeco).
Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union Ngo Van Cuong expressed his hope that meaningful programs and activities in the coming time will continue to promote the strengths of both sides, working towards common goals for a sustainably developed Vietnam.
On this occasion, the Central Youth Union launched the contest "Creative ideas for energy saving and green energy use" to encourage creative ideas from the community and young union members nationwide on safe, economical and efficient use of energy, joining hands to protect the environment. The best ideas awarded from the Program will be considered for inclusion in environmental projects in 2024.
