Focus on exam preparation, with a student-centered approach.
12th grade students at Thanh Son High School are actively preparing for the high school graduation exam.
The 2026 high school graduation exam is a gateway to the future for tens of thousands of students. Therefore, the Department of Education and Training requires the entire sector to fully understand the exam regulations, professional guidelines, and the "Exam Handbook" for 100% of officials, teachers, staff, and candidates. In the context of rapidly developing technology, tightening exam discipline is even more urgent.
The exam papers have been classified as top secret state secrets, therefore any use of mobile phones, communication devices, high technology, or artificial intelligence (AI) for cheating is strictly prohibited. In addition, localities and schools have strengthened coordination with the police, health , electricity, and telecommunications forces to fully prepare for the exam with specific plans.
Schools closely monitor students' abilities in their review process. At Thanh Son High School in Thanh Son commune, 441 12th-grade students were assessed based on their abilities at the beginning of the school year to develop appropriate review plans. Subject departments reviewed the curriculum, reinforced foundational knowledge, increased practice with exam questions, and honed test-taking skills. A notable point is that the review process was linked to assessing students' actual abilities. The school organized five quality assessment surveys to promptly adjust teaching methods and support students with knowledge gaps.
According to Mr. Bui Vinh Tuy, Principal of Thanh Son High School, the school has determined that exam preparation must closely follow students' abilities, avoiding unnecessary pressure while still ensuring quality. Therefore, subject departments regularly review academic results to provide additional support for students with knowledge gaps; and at the same time, promote the role of homeroom teachers in accompanying and encouraging students during the final stage of their high school education.
Thanh Son High School also focuses on providing psychological support to students during the final preparation period. Many teachers dedicate extra time outside of class to support weaker students; review sessions are more interactive, encouraging students to actively discuss and solve common question types found in exams.
No disadvantaged students should be left behind.

Que Lam High School is reviewing for 12th-grade students in a differentiated manner, closely aligned with students' abilities.
At Que Lam High School in Tay Coc commune, exam preparation was implemented early with a differentiated approach, increased application of technology, and strict management of exam data. In 2026, Que Lam High School had 299 registered candidates, all 12th-grade students. The school proactively developed a review plan, managed records, and prepared all necessary conditions for the exam in accordance with regulations.
Some end-of-year review sessions are conducted online to help students proactively consolidate their knowledge, while also assisting teachers in monitoring learning progress and assessing students' abilities more accurately. Mr. Pham Hong Ky, Principal of Que Lam High School, shared that preparing for the high school graduation exam is not only a key professional task but also reflects the quality of education at the school. Therefore, the review process is regularly monitored to promptly adjust teaching methods; and to enhance guidance on exam-taking skills for students. Que Lam High School pays attention to students living far away and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
According to statistics, 40 students had to cross the Chay River by ferry to reach the exam site; 17 students lived 13-17km away from the school; 1 student belonged to a poor household, 8 students were from near-poor households, and 7 students had particularly difficult circumstances. The school coordinated with parents to develop appropriate support plans to minimize risks during the exam period. According to Mr. Pham Hong Ky, ensuring the conditions for students to take the exam, especially those from distant or disadvantaged backgrounds, was a top priority for the school, aiming to prevent any obstacles for students during the exam.
The 2026 high school graduation exam across the province is expected to have 110 examination centers with approximately 1,962 examination rooms and 48,185 registered candidates; mobilizing over 7,100 officials, teachers, and personnel to participate in the examination process. The workload is enormous, but the proactive approach of the education sector and the sense of responsibility of each school and teacher are creating an important foundation for a safe, serious, and effective examination.
What is most noteworthy is the shift in Phu Tho's education sector from an "exam-oriented" mindset to a "partnership with students" mindset. Instead of chasing superficial achievements and creating extreme pressure, the focus is on comprehensive care, encompassing knowledge, skills, psychology, and exam preparation.
Thanks to the proactive efforts of the education sector, the close coordination of local authorities, and the responsible spirit of the staff and teachers, preparations for the 2026 High School Graduation Examination in the province are being implemented comprehensively, systematically, and effectively. The solutions implemented demonstrate a determination to improve the quality of education and ensure the right to education for all students, especially those in disadvantaged areas. This also provides an important foundation for students to confidently enter the exam with a firm mindset and a determination to achieve high results.
