The pristine beauty of the Indian almond tree.

According to an investigation by reporters from Giao Thong Newspaper, Tram Chim National Park in Tam Nong district ( Dong Thap province ) not only has red-crowned cranes, but also the Yellow-headed Impatiens flower - a very rare flower found only in Dong Thap.

This "specialty" flower only grows in acidic soil and blooms for four hours a day, starting in the late morning at 10:30 AM and wilting in the afternoon around 2:30 PM. They create a vibrant carpet of yellow flowers amidst the cool, green mangrove forest in Vietnam's 4th Ramsar site and the world 's 2,000th.

Fields of yellow trumpet flowers are in full bloom at Tram Chim National Park in Tam Nong district (Dong Thap province).

According to Mr. Le Hoang Long, Director of Tram Chim National Park , Tram Chim National Park is divided into many ecosystems such as animal and plant life, melaleuca forests, seasonally flooded fields, sedge grasslands, reed grass fields, wild rice fields, water sedge fields, and swamp ecosystems.

"Last year, the Impatiens flowers didn't bloom, but this year they're blooming profusely and in abundance. This is thanks to proper water level management. The flowers usually appear in areas A4 and A5, but currently, they are most abundant in area A4," Mr. Long added.

An interesting destination for tourists during the Lunar New Year.

According to Mr. Long, the yellow-headed crane flower blooms only once a year, for about two months. After the flower withers, the goldenrod plant – a favorite food of the red-crowned crane – will appear in the same spot.

"We are delighted that the Yellow-headed Impatiens flowers are blooming right before the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon 2024. This is an opportunity for tourists to visit, experience, and take photos. Therefore, Tram Chim National Park will start welcoming visitors on January 27, 2024," Mr. Long informed.

This vehicle will take visitors to the fields of Indian almond blossoms to experience many interesting things.

Following the first group of visitors to the blooming yellow trumpet flower fields at Tram Chim National Park, our reporter had the opportunity to experience riding in a small motorboat, navigating through the melaleuca forest and beginning a "photo hunting" journey amidst the vast carpet of yellow flowers in the lush green forest.

Sharing about this interesting journey, Ms. Lam Kim Ngoan (30 years old, residing in Ho Chi Minh City) said, "I was truly surprised when I came to Tram Chim National Park today and was introduced to the field of yellow trumpet flowers."

"This is the first time I've had such a wonderful experience with a field of vibrant yellow flowers like this. It's even more exciting when the tour guide introduces the Yellow-headed Impatiens, a wild flower that creates a highlight for Tram Chim National Park," said Ms. Ngoan.

Many professional photographers wait until the yellow trumpet vine blooms to capture beautiful images of this wild flower.

Next to him, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nhan (34 years old, residing in Cao Lanh city, Dong Thap province) said that he had seen many people sharing images of the blooming yellow trumpet flowers at Tram Chim National Park on social media in the past few days. Taking advantage of the weekend, he decided to visit, experience, and take souvenir photos.

Mr. Nhan said: "It's very interesting that this year the yellow trumpet flowers bloomed just before the Lunar New Year. This is an opportunity for tourists to have more time to come and explore and immerse themselves in the fields of vibrant yellow flowers."

The dazzling golden hues of the Indian almond blossoms are blooming brilliantly in the world's 2,000th Ramsar site.

"Tram Chim National Park always diversifies its tourism services, especially seasonal products and services with unique characteristics to attract visitors and provide them with experiences."

During the operation of services associated with environmental protection, forest fire prevention and control work in Tram Chim National Park is carried out, and the safety of tourists during their use of the services is ensured.

However, upon detecting the appearance of red-crowned cranes, the tour service to the Yellow-headed Crane flower field will be suspended to carry out conservation work," Mr. Long informed.

The red-crowned crane is listed as near threatened in the Red List of Threatened Species of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN).

In 2021, three red-crowned cranes visited Tram Chim National Park, and since 2022, no cranes have been seen there.

Tram Chim National Park, located in Tam Nong district (Dong Thap province), is the world's 2,000th Ramsar site and the 4th in Vietnam. It covers an area of over 7,000 hectares and is situated 40km from Cao Leanh city (Dong Thap province) and over 100km from Ho Chi Minh City.
Overall, Tram Chim National Park is divided into many ecosystems such as animal and plant life, melaleuca forests, seasonally flooded fields, sedge grasslands, reed grass fields, wild rice fields, water sedge fields, and swamp ecosystems.
