Earlier, both the Russian and Belarusian Ministries of Defense announced joint nuclear exercises.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the goal of the exercise is to “improve the skills of command and combat officers, the organization of command and control of subordinate units in the preparation and implementation of deterrence measures,” as well as to test the readiness of participating units and assess combat readiness.

The exercise will include ballistic and cruise missile launches at test ranges, involving approximately 65,000 military personnel, 7,800 pieces of equipment, more than 200 missile launchers, 73 surface vessels, and 13 submarines, including 8 strategic missile submarines.
In addition, the exercise will also focus on training and joint use of nuclear weapons deployed in Belarus.
