Russia warned it would continue attacks on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, including defense industrial facilities and Ukraine's "decision-making center," and urged foreign citizens and diplomats to leave the city as soon as possible.
In a statement on May 25, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that its armed forces were beginning systematic attacks on Ukrainian military -industrial facilities in the capital Kyiv. The ministry said the attacks would target “decision-making centers” and command centers, and warned personnel from diplomatic missions and international organizations to leave the city.
The warning comes after Russia launched a barrage of drones and missiles at Ukraine over the weekend, killing at least four people, injuring dozens, and causing damage in several areas of Kyiv.

According to Moscow, among the weapons used was the Oreshnik hypersonic missile, a type of missile that can fly at speeds 10 times the speed of sound and is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.
The attacks occurred a few days after Russia accused Ukraine of attacking a vocational school dormitory in the Russian-controlled Lugansk region, killing 21 people. Russian President Vladimir Putin subsequently ordered the military to retaliate for the incident.
Earlier this month, Russia also urged foreign citizens and diplomats to evacuate Kyiv, after warning it would launch large-scale attacks on the center of the Ukrainian capital if Kyiv disrupted the military parade in Red Square.
Russia launched a full-scale military operation in Ukraine in February 2022. Since then, the conflict has become one of the deadliest battles in Europe since World War II.
