Russia occupies the Kleban-Byk bottleneck, blocking the supply route to Pokrovsk
Russian troops closed the lid on the Kleban-Byk stew and took control of all supply routes to the city of Pokrovsk.

The offensive operations of the units of the Western Army Group of the Russian army allowed them to take control of the settlement of Sredneye, located in the north of Donetsk Oblast. At the same time, the Southern Army Group also took control of the village of Kleban-Byk, located south of the city of Konstantinovka. The Russian Armed Forces (RFAF) control of the village of Kleban-Byk, located on a hill, allows Russian FPV UAVs to take off from here and control almost the entire area of Konstantinovka. In addition, the "bottleneck" running along the Kleban-Byk - Aleksandro-Kalinovo road is the "throat" of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) defending the southern part of the Kleban-Byk reservoir.
According to some information, about three thousand Ukrainian soldiers have died as a result of RFAF fire in the village of Kleban-Byk and along this “bottleneck”. Since there is now no land retreat for the AFU from this area, some Ukrainian soldiers are trying to cross the Kleban-Byk lake by boat to the city of Konstantinovka. The village of Serednje is located on the banks of the Nitrius River, 17 km west of the previously controlled village of Terny, 15 km northwest of Krasny Liman and 27 km north of Slavyansk. Given the geographical location of Serednje, it is possible that the RFAF General Staff is preparing a bridgehead for an attack on Krasny Liman. While the RFAF's Army Groups Center and Army Groups South continue to put pressure on the Ukrainian defenders in the Konstantinovka and Pokrovsk areas; yesterday, the RFAF captured Pankivka, giving the Russians access to the AFU logistics center at Shakhovo. The Russian Defense Ministry said yesterday that the RFAF Group Center had taken control of the village of Pankivka north of Pokrovsk. The RFAF also confirmed full control of the village of Sukhetske north of Rodynske, where they began advancing on August 3. With the RFAF's Group Centre control of Pankivka, the Russians would be able to continue their breakthrough to Shakhovo, which is of great importance to the RFAF, as Shakhovo is an important AFU logistics center northeast of Pokrovsk.
If Shakhovo were captured, the RFAF would be able to organize favorable logistics, allowing them to move large numbers of troops. At present, this is almost impossible, as all routes are either under AFU control or in a gray zone. Therefore, the RFAF's control of Pankivka, which almost reached Shakhovo, was of utmost importance. Along with the control of Pankivka, the RFAF was now also advancing on Volodymyrivka. The AFU command at the Pokrovsk front understood the importance of Shakhovo and was fighting back fiercely, trying to prevent the Russians from advancing on this logistics center. Currently, the Russians are holding Kucherov Yar, repelling Ukrainian counterattacks, as the AFU has thrown its elite units into combat to break through the Russian breakthrough. According to Russian media reports, the AFU has not yet been able to dislodge the RFAF units from the area, which they recently broke through north of Pokrovsk. Meanwhile, all traffic routes to the Pokrovsk front in Ukraine are now under the control of RFAF UAV units. The supply of supplies, weapons, as well as the rotation of Ukrainian troops, are basically no longer possible. Visual evidence of this has been published online.
The video , which was posted online, shows Russian FPV UAV operators attacking AFU cargo vehicles, even on roads equipped with anti-UAV nets. This means that any AFU logistics effort to Pokrovsk is under threat of Russian attack. The situation is similar with the evacuation of AFU wounded, as their casualties are increasing every day. Especially the logistical support of the campaign in the near future, which may make organized defense of AFU here very difficult. It is worth noting that at present, the situation of the RFAF breakthrough north of Pokrovsk, where the AFU General Staff has mobilized the most well-trained reserve forces, is developing rapidly. However, despite all efforts, the AFU has not been able to stabilize the situation on this front. According to Russian war correspondents from the Pokrovsk front, due to frequent airstrikes by the Russian Air Force, the Ukrainian army suffered heavy losses, because they were fighting outside fortified positions. Meanwhile, in this area, the plain terrain is relatively flat, with few fortified positions and villages for the Ukrainian army to take shelter.
