The Russian Ministry of Defense has officially confirmed the transfer of nuclear warheads to a missile brigade stationed in the Republic of Belarus. This is part of a large-scale nuclear forces exercise plan aimed at enhancing combat readiness and protecting territorial sovereignty against contemporary security challenges.
Combat operations with the Iskander-M system.
According to a statement from the Russian military , special types of ammunition have been safely transported to field depots in the missile brigade's deployment area. Soldiers are currently undergoing intensive training, focusing on receiving and handling nuclear ammunition for the Iskander-M tactical ballistic missile system.

The training included complex technical steps such as loading ammunition into launch tubes and deploying covert formations to designated coordinates. This activity aimed to practice preparing nuclear forces units to achieve all assigned objectives, while also providing comprehensive logistical support in realistic combat situations.
Scale of mobilization of forces and equipment
This exercise saw an exceptionally large mobilization of troops and equipment. According to data from the Russian Ministry of Defense, the operation involved more than 64,000 servicemen and over 7,800 types of specialized weapons and military equipment. The main components included:
- Over 200 ground-based missile launchers.
- Over 140 military aircraft.
- 73 surface vessels and 13 submarines of various types.
- Eight submarine cruisers carrying strategic missiles.
In addition to activities in Belarus, the exercise also focused on conducting test launches of ballistic and cruise missiles at various firing ranges across Russian territory. The joint nuclear weapons training and deployment exercises on the territory of the Republic of Belarus were considered central to the two countries' joint operational efforts.
This activity follows the May 19 announcement by the Russian Ministry of Defense of the start of nuclear forces exercises in response to potential attack threats.
