Russia launches a fierce offensive, destroying 146 Ukrainian bases.

Updating the situation in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, according to the TASS news agency, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that on March 19, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian military airfields and UAV storage facilities in 146 locations.

During the day, Russia's Northern Warfare Group inflicted more than 70 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed three enemy tanks in the area under its control.

Russia's Southern Theater Command has inflicted approximately 270 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed a significant amount of enemy weapons and equipment in the past 24 hours.

Similarly, Russia's Central Combat Group eliminated 465 Ukrainian soldiers from combat that day. Russia's Eastern Combat Group also inflicted 145 casualties on the opposing forces.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Russian air defenses shot down 142 Ukrainian drones over the past day.

Russia fires thermobaric artillery, leveling targets in Ukraine.

According to RT, the released video shows a TOS-1A thermobaric artillery system belonging to Russia's Western Group destroying a Ukrainian platoon-level outpost.

Nighttime video footage shows the TOS-1A system firing missiles in rapid succession, while a reconnaissance drone (UAV) recorded the entire attack. The raid was precise, with multiple explosions occurring simultaneously in a small area.

The TOS-1A system is designed as a heavy flamethrower and is primarily used by the Russian Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces (RKhBZ). However, the system also functions effectively as a multiple rocket launcher using 220mm heat-seeking rockets mounted on a tank chassis.

The TOS-1A heavy flamethrower is renowned for its devastating thermobaric explosion when its 220mm projectiles strike their targets. This type of projectile is used to attack enemy soldiers hiding in trenches, bunkers, or lightly armored vehicles.

Russia claims to have shot down a Ukrainian F-16.

On the night of March 19, several Russian sources reported that a Russian S-400 air defense missile system, targeted by a Su-35S fighter jet, shot down an F-16 belonging to the Ukrainian Air Force.

However, the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) stated that the Ukrainian Air Force has denied reports that one of its F-16 fighter jets was shot down over Sumy, according to Ukrinform.

Yurii Ihnat, head of the communications department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command, debunked this false information, emphasizing that Ukrainian pilots continue to successfully carry out combat missions.

Two days ago, Ukrainian media published a video showing F-16s operating at low altitude over the Sumy province, bordering Russia.
