The Zapad Forces group announced on July 21 that their Su-34 fighter jets had carried out airstrikes targeting a troop assembly of the 36th Independent Rifle Battalion of the Ukrainian forces near Kolodyazi in the direction of Kupyansk.
The group's artillery also hampered attempts to rotate the 32nd Separate Mechanized Brigade units near Novoselovskoe.
In addition, artillery shelled the positions of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade and territorial defense units near Rozovka, Stelmahovka, Sandy, and Kotlyarovka.
Ukraine's losses in this direction amounted to an infantry platoon, a US-made M113 armored vehicle, and an ammunition depot.
In the direction of Dvurechensky, the Group's units captured five strongholds and four observation posts near Masyutovka and Sinkovka. Kyiv's forces lost more than an infantry platoon, a Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery piece, and an American-made AN/TPQ-50 counter-artillery radar. Intense Russian fire also destroyed a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery piece.
A Buk air defense system of the Group also shot down a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter in Kutkovka and a Leleka 100 reconnaissance drone in Liman. The Tor-M2U air defense system also shot down an A1-CM Furia reconnaissance drone over Veliky Vyselok.
Russia is stepping up its offensive operations in multiple directions.
Meanwhile, Russia's Yug Forces Group claimed to have repelled seven attacks by Kyiv forces in the Lisichansk, Avdeevsky, and Maryinsky directions. The group also destroyed two armored fighting vehicles near Kurdyumovka and Kleshchievka.
In addition, the group's Tornado-S heavy rocket artillery systems attacked and destroyed the fuel depot of the 77th Separate Airborne Brigade near Druzhkovka.
The Group's artillery also struck Ukrainian targets near Vyemka and Seversk, an armored vehicle near Krasnoye, a Polish-made Krab system, a US-made M019 self-propelled gun, 120 mm mortars near Pervomaisky, and two Msta-B towed artillery pieces near Ostrogo and Far, toward Maryinsky.
The group's air defense forces also shot down four drones in the direction of Lisichansk and Soledaro-Artemovsk. The group also used the TOS-1 air defense system to attack Ukrainian personnel and equipment assembly points near Maloylinovka.
Newly released videos show Lancet drone attacks targeting five pieces of equipment belonging to Kyiv's forces, including two main battle tanks, two howitzers, and an infantry fighting vehicle.
Ukraine's counteroffensive began more than six weeks ago. However, despite suffering heavy losses in personnel and equipment, Kyiv's forces have yet to achieve any significant success on the ground.
