Preventing the seeds of crime.

A couple was walking their dog without a muzzle on the pedestrian street when a security guard reminded them to be careful. An argument ensued, and the guard was severely beaten, sustaining serious head injuries and falling unconscious on the spot.

The incident occurred on the morning of February 27th on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, Ben Nghe ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. Immediately afterwards, local police summoned TCH (26 years old, residing in District 8) and other related individuals for questioning.

Earlier that morning, H and a girl stopped their car by the roadside and took their dog into the park on the pedestrian street.

Seeing the two people walking their dogs without muzzles or leashes and letting them roam freely, Mr. NXC (58 years old), a security guard, approached to remind them. H picked up a piece of metal and attacked Mr. C, causing him to lose consciousness and suffer serious head injuries.

It is known that there are signs in this area prohibiting the bringing or letting of pets out of the house.

H's behavior will certainly be dealt with severely, given its aggressive nature in a public place. However, this incident once again shows that thuggish behavior stemming from minor conflicts continues, despite numerous recent incidents and the high price paid by many people.

In the past, Vietnamese people did not favor violence or enjoy fighting, except when they were excessively oppressed or suppressed.

In the past, violence was only used to refer to enemies, and only against enemies. But why is violence so rampant in modern society today?

Street violence, from car accidents leading to physical altercations, is commonplace, but even husbands and wives, who usually share a close relationship, can resort to knives and hammers; children, angry at their parents, can beat them with sticks. In the past, such acts were considered "ten heinous crimes," with the mildest punishment being exile, and the most severe being dismemberment by four horses.

After each incident that caused public outrage, sociologists, criminologists, and psychologists analyzed, explained, and advised against it… But then acts of hooliganism still happen.

Thuggish behavior is the path to crime. Numerous murders have occurred due to trivial conflicts. Many lives have taken a different turn because of impulsive actions. Countless expressions of regret and belated tears have been shed, yet it seems insufficient to serve as a warning to many.

Therefore, along with strict legal action, public opinion also needs to strongly condemn such incidents to prevent similar occurrences.

As society develops and people's material lives become more prosperous, life is not just about material values. It only truly has meaning when people know how to share, care for, and help those around them and their community.

At the very least, thoughtless, lawless behavior that disregards the lives and health of others should not be allowed to occur in a civilized society that upholds the rule of law.
