Agricultural production and distribution units signed cooperation agreements at the Trade Promotion Fair for businesses in the agricultural - forestry - fishery value chain in 2025.
According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in the first 6 months of 2025, many indicators in the industry have reached and exceeded the growth scenario. Of which, food output reached nearly 102,000 tons (equal to 100% of the scenario); fresh meat output reached over 48,000 tons (exceeding 0.6% of the scenario); aquatic product output reached nearly 90,000 tons (exceeding 9.3% of the scenario).
Notably, in the forestry sector, the afforestation area reached about 27,500 hectares, exceeding the scenario by 4.2% and increasing by 174% compared to the same period in 2024, while the exploitation of planted forest wood reached more than 875,000m³, nearly doubling. In the livestock industry, the output of livestock and poultry reached more than 5.8 million heads (up 23% compared to the same period in 2024).
In the face of climate change and complex disease risks, the agricultural sector's ability to maintain stable growth and exceed targets is the result of the sector's determination in management and the efforts of local authorities and people.
The agricultural sector has strengthened pest forecasting and pest management from the beginning of the season. The area infected with pests on crops decreased by more than 3,400 hectares compared to the same period in 2024. Thereby, the revenue value of crop products in the whole province reached about 1,785 billion VND (an increase of 280 billion VND compared to 2024). Notably, in the livestock sector, thanks to strict disease control, in the first 6 months of the year, the whole province recorded only 1 small-scale African swine fever outbreak, no large-scale epidemic spread. Vaccination and disease surveillance programs were organized methodically, with focus and key points. This has helped people feel secure in expanding their production scale.
Regarding fishing vessel management, 100% of fishing vessels over 15m have installed voyage monitoring equipment, the whole province has not recorded any vessels violating foreign waters, contributing to strictly implementing the EC's recommendations on combating IUU fishing.

The province has also actively promoted the granting of rights to use sea areas for aquaculture. By the end of June 2025, localities had received nearly 700 applications, of which sea areas were allocated to over 600 individuals and organizations. The provincial level has granted licenses to 14/16 qualified applications, contributing to the effective management of coastal resources. Food safety work has also been seriously implemented by functional units. Currently, the industry has granted 1,339 traceability accounts and 2,630 QR codes for agricultural and aquatic products. Many trade promotion activities, connecting supply and demand, and introducing OCOP products are regularly organized.
Aiming for innovative and sustainable agriculture, the Department of Agriculture and Environment is also determined to accelerate digital transformation, science and technology, and develop high-tech agriculture. In the past 6 months, many plans have been issued on innovation, digital literacy, and development of high-tech agricultural zones according to the direction of the Provincial People's Committee. The province currently has 768 agricultural cooperatives (an increase of 58 cooperatives compared to the end of 2024). Policies to support production and encourage investment have been implemented synchronously.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Son, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, said: In order to ensure sustainable growth momentum and exceed the 2025 target, in the last 6 months of the year, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of the province has identified key groups of tasks, strengthening the monitoring of harmful organisms, controlling diseases on crops and livestock, expanding production areas, high-quality rice cultivation areas in the 2025 winter-spring crop, creating room for winter-spring crop production in 2025. At the same time, we will continue to build disease-free areas, protect production; focus on supporting large livestock enterprises and projects (high-tech pig farm in Duong Hoa commune of Greentech Livestock Joint Stock Company, beef and pork farm project of Phu Lam Company Limited, Thien Thuan Tuong Agricultural and Rural Development Joint Stock Company). At the same time, speed up the implementation of projects that have been approved for investment policy (High-tech pig breeding and pork farming area project in Binh Khe commune of Dabaco Quang Ninh Joint Stock Company ...). The industry will also strengthen state management of slaughter control, quarantine of animal and animal product transportation, veterinary hygiene inspection, quality management of breeding stock for production... Especially in the face of the complicated developments of African swine fever, the industry will closely coordinate with localities to monitor the epidemic down to the farming households, thereby ensuring early detection and timely handling of outbreaks.
