On the afternoon of April 21, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a regular press conference for the first quarter of 2025. The press conference was chaired by Mr. Le Quang Tu Do - Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information; Ms. Dang Thi Phuong Thao - Deputy Director of the Department of Press; Mr. Nguyen Huu Ngoc - Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Briefing on the culture, sports and tourism work in the first quarter and key tasks in the second quarter of 2025, Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Huu Ngoc said that in the first quarter of 2025, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism actively implemented the work plan with the function of "Culture is the foundation - Sports is strength - Sustainable tourism development", while closely following the theme of the year "Discipline - Setting an example - Responsibility - Streamlining - Efficiency - Reaching the finish line" to ensure the completion of the key tasks set out.

Under the close leadership of the Party Central Committee, the Secretariat, the Politburo and the drastic and flexible direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, together with the effective coordination between ministries, branches, localities and the consensus of the people, the socio-economic situation in the first months of 2025 has had many positive changes, achieving important results.

In that context, the culture, sports and tourism sector continues to record significant developments, contributing to the overall development of the country.

Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Huu Ngoc summarized the work of culture, sports and tourism in the first quarter and key tasks in the second quarter of 2025.

Specifically, regarding the work of building and perfecting institutions, on February 28, 2025, the Government issued Decree No. 43/2025/ND-CP stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will take on additional functions and tasks of state management of the press; radio and television; news agencies; publishing, printing, distribution; electronic information; grassroots information and foreign information. In the first quarter of 2025, the Ministry will continue to pay attention to and implement the work of building and perfecting institutions in the fields of culture, sports and tourism in a synchronous, effective, practical manner, in accordance with the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State. The Ministry has proactively reviewed, proposed, amended, supplemented and perfected mechanisms, policies and laws to create a solid legal corridor for the sustainable development of the industry.

Many important legal documents have been researched, developed and submitted to competent authorities for promulgation, contributing to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management and creating new development space for the fields of culture, sports and tourism. Administrative reform continues to be promoted, aiming to streamline the apparatus, creating convenience for organizations and individuals when carrying out administrative procedures.

In the field of culture and family: Develop 3 Decrees and 8 Circulars detailing the Law on Cultural Heritage 2024 and stipulate economic and technical norms for the list of public careers in the field of cultural heritage; Submit to the Prime Minister for decision and approval: ranking 5 special national relics; 1 Plan for preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of relics; 05 Tasks for making a Plan for preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of relics; issue 8 decisions on archaeological exploration and excavation for provinces/cities; include 10 intangible cultural heritages in the List of national intangible cultural heritages; recognize national treasures (batch 13, 2024) for 33 artifacts and groups of artifacts.

Sports and physical education: Issue the Plan to implement the Strategy for the Development of Vietnam's Sports and Physical Education to 2030, with a vision to 2045 (Decision No. 675/QD-BVHTTDL dated March 14, 2025); Decision on regulations for assessing and classifying the professional performance results of National Sports Associations; Issue the national sports competition schedule for 2025. Guide and direct localities to organize the Olympic Running Day for the health of all people in 2025 and the month of physical education and sports activities for everyone to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Sports and Physical Education Sector (March 27, 1946 - March 27, 2025); adjust the Plan to organize Sports and Physical Education Congresses at all levels according to the policy of arranging the organization of the new local government apparatus.

Prepare a force of disabled athletes to participate in the Southeast Asian Para Games in Thailand and international sports tournaments. Organize 2 mass sports competitions as planned. Focus on preparing forces to participate in the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand and international sports competitions in 2025. Prepare to organize a workshop to give feedback on the Program for developing key sports to prepare for participation in the Olympics and ASIADs in the period 2026-2046. Coordinate with localities, federations, and national sports associations to organize 23 national sports tournaments and 02 training courses for referees and sports coaches. Results of participation in international sports competitions in the first quarter of 2025: achieved 98 medals, including 19 gold medals, 25 silver medals, and 54 bronze medals.

Tourism sector: Issued Circular No. 01/2025/TT-BVHTTDL dated March 19, 2025 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism stipulating economic and technical norms for information organization services to support tourists and develop community tourism; Plan to implement the Tourism System Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2045; Plan to implement activities to promote, advertise and support tourism development in 2025; Plan to implement Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP dated January 15, 2025 of the Government on visa exemption under the Tourism Development Stimulus Program in 2025 for citizens of the following countries: Republic of Poland, Czech Republic and Swiss Confederation; Action plan to implement Resolution No. 02/NQ-CP of the Government on key tasks and solutions to improve the business environment and enhance national competitiveness in 2025; Tourism stimulus program in 2025; Plan to implement Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP dated January 15, 2025 of the Government and Tourism stimulus program in 2025 with the theme "Vietnam - go to love".

Participate in international tourism fairs. Issue documents to the Department of Tourism, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces and cities, tourism promotion centers, airlines, tourism and hotel businesses to announce the expected plan for tourism promotion and advertising in 2025; send documents to airlines, international travel businesses, tourism businesses inviting them to participate in the Bali Tourism Fair and Beyond 2025 in Indonesia; invite the Department of Tourism, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces and cities to participate in the "Best Tourism Village" award in 2025 of UN Tourism. Organize the launching ceremony of the project "Swiss Tourism for Sustainable Development in Vietnam". Launch a video clip promoting the beauty of Vietnamese tourism on Youtube in response to the Tourism Development Stimulus Program in 2025 with the theme "Vietnam: Go To Love!".

Coordinate the organization of activities to promote tourism, the image of the country, people and culture of Vietnam on the occasion of the 4th Summit (P4G) and the Partnership Forum for Green Growth and Global Goals. Develop an outline for the Program to promote Vietnamese cuisine to the world in the period 2026-2030.

Coordinate with relevant units to organize the Opening Ceremony of National Tourism Year 2025 on March 25, 2025 in Hue city; Cultural - Tourism Festival and Program to introduce tourism, cuisine, Vietnamese craft villages, connecting businesses on the occasion of National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 in the European market (France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland).

Press and media sector: Continue to complete the draft dossier of the Press Law (amended). Research and propose the consolidation of the Decree regulating royalties in the press and publishing sector into the Decree amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 21/2015/ND-CP dated February 14, 2015 regulating royalties and remuneration for cinematographic, fine arts, photography, theater and other art forms. Prepare to welcome a delegation of Lao/Cambodian journalists to visit and work in Vietnam in 2025 according to the Memorandum of Understanding between the two Ministries.

Directing and guiding radio and television stations to promote information and propaganda on the implementation of Resolution No. 01/NQ-CP dated January 8, 2025 of the Government on key tasks and solutions to implement the Socio-Economic Development Plan and State Budget Estimates for 2025, creating trust and social consensus; improving the effectiveness of mass mobilization work. Currently, the country has 68 central and local radio and television stations and television units operating, a decrease of 04 stations compared to 2024; 158 television channels, a decrease of 17 channels compared to 2024; estimated pay TV subscribers are 18 million, a decrease of 15.5% compared to the whole year of 2024; 36 enterprises are granted licenses to provide pay TV services.

Publishing, printing and distribution: Drafting: documents to propose the drafting of a Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Publishing Law; Plan to organize the implementation of the 8th National Book Award in 2025. Guiding and directing publishers to publish publications promoting major holidays in March 2025. Completing the 4th Vietnam Reading Day and Culture Plan in 2025. Attending the Cuba International Book Fair in Cuba nationwide. Receiving 1,136 dossiers on publishing; 985 dossiers on printing; 244 dossiers on publishing distribution.

Regarding the key tasks for the second quarter of 2025, Deputy Chief of Office Nguyen Huu Ngoc said that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will focus on effectively implementing Resolution No. 01/NQ-CP dated January 8, 2025 of the Government on key tasks and solutions to implement the Socio-Economic Development Plan and State Budget Estimates for 2025; Resolution No. 02/NQ-CP dated January 8, 2025 of the Government on key tasks and solutions to improve the business environment and enhance national competitiveness in 2025.
