According to the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development, the event is part of the National Trade Promotion Program 2025, practically responding to the National Unity Day (November 18) and celebrating the success of the 15th Lai Chau Provincial Party Congress. This is not only a trade promotion activity, but also a unique cultural and economic festival of the ethnic minorities in the northern mountainous region.
Sharing his thoughts on the program's significance, Mr. Tran Huu Linh, Director of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development, emphasized: “ The festival is an important opportunity to promote supply and demand connections, advertise regional specialties, and support businesses and cooperatives in improving production capacity, building brands, and expanding sustainable distribution channels. The Ministry of Industry and Trade always accompanies localities in bringing highland agricultural products closer to consumers nationwide and aiming for export .”
According to Mr. Linh, this year's festival is organized on a regional scale, aiming to enhance the value of agricultural products from the northern mountainous region, creating a bridge for local businesses to access larger markets, especially through e-commerce and modern distribution channels.
Diverse activities connecting supply and demand
Within the framework of the program, many diverse activities will take place, such as: the opening ceremony of the Festival of Products from Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Regions in Northern Vietnam; a business networking conference between suppliers in the Northwest region and export businesses; and an exhibition space with over 50 booths showcasing OCOP products, local specialties, agricultural products, cuisine , and handicrafts.

In particular, the online sales livestream on the TikTok Shop platform will introduce and promote Lai Chau's signature products such as Lai Chau ginseng, ancient tea, cordyceps, Seng Cu rice, dried meat, vermicelli, and local ginseng... This activity demonstrates the trend of digital transformation in trade promotion, helping highland agricultural products directly reach consumers nationwide.
The event is expected to attract around 150 delegates from central and local authorities, especially from provinces in the northern mountainous region, along with many businesses, cooperatives, and KOLs/KOCs in the e-commerce and consumer goods sectors.
Mr. Vuong The Man, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Lai Chau province, said: “ The festival not only has economic significance but also a rich cultural identity. This is an opportunity for the northern mountainous provinces to introduce and promote their characteristic products, connect trade, and contribute to increasing income for the people, especially ethnic minorities in the highlands .”
Previously, the People's Committee of Lai Chau province issued Plan No. 6632/KH-UBND dated October 24, 2025, to organize the "Northern Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Region Products Festival and Business Networking Conference" in Lai Chau province in 2025. The festival aims to create opportunities for business networking between enterprises in the northern mountainous provinces, Lai Chau province, and distribution and export businesses nationwide. Through this, it will introduce and promote the image, products, and unique culinary culture of the Northwest region in general, Lai Chau province, and the ethnic minorities and mountainous regions in particular; boost product consumption, and create momentum for local economic development.
With close coordination between the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development and the Lai Chau Department of Industry and Trade, and the support of local authorities, the 2025 Festival of Products from Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Regions in Northern Vietnam promises to become a highlight in national trade promotion efforts, spreading the spirit of solidarity, creativity, and sustainable development in Vietnam's highlands.
