Nghe An: Private tutoring and extra classes are strictly prohibited during the summer break.

On June 16th, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training issued a directive to all departments and school principals to refrain from organizing extra classes and tutoring sessions. This aims to provide students with time for rest, recreation, and participation in positive activities that contribute to their holistic development and ensure their health and safety during the summer break.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training requires schools to absolutely prohibit teachers from organizing extra classes or tutoring in any form, both inside and outside the school, and to refrain from teaching ahead of the curriculum. The exception is organizing review sessions within the school for 12th-grade students participating in the 2024 high school graduation exam and providing advanced training for gifted students participating in national and international competitions.

For IT, Foreign Language, and Life Skills Centers: The Department of Education and Training requires that summer activities be organized strictly according to the locations and programs licensed by the Department of Education and Training. Absolutely no teaching of content or programs that have not been assessed and licensed by the Department of Education and Training is permitted.

At the same time, schools are required to proactively coordinate with local authorities, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union , functional forces, and parents to organize clubs for developing life skills; preventing drowning and child abuse; preventing school violence; promoting the effectiveness of clubs based on interests (such as sports: martial arts, football, table tennis, basketball, badminton...; arts and culture: playing musical instruments, singing, drawing, dancing...; reading...); or organizing activities to practice communication in foreign languages...

The Departments of Education and Training must regularly direct schools in their areas to strictly implement the above contents; strengthen inspection work and recommend strict handling of organizations and individuals who violate the regulations; advise the People's Committee of the district (city, town) to direct localities to regularly review, gather information and promptly report on extracurricular tutoring outside of school in the area to promptly handle it according to regulations.
