Nghe An: Strictly prohibit extra teaching and learning during summer vacation

DNVN - Departments of Education and Training and school principals must take responsibility if they let teachers teach extra classes during the summer.

On June 16, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training directed departments and school principals not to organize extra classes to create conditions for students to have time to rest, play, participate in positive activities contributing to comprehensive development and ensuring health and safety during the summer vacation.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training requires schools to absolutely not allow teachers to organize extra classes or learning in any form, both inside and outside of school, and not to teach the program in advance. Except for organizing review sessions in schools for 12th graders taking the 2024 high school graduation exam and training excellent students to participate in national and international competition teams.

For IT, Foreign Language, and Life Skills Centers: The Department of Education and Training requires that summer activities must be organized in accordance with the location and program licensed by the Department of Education and Training. Absolutely do not organize teaching of content and programs that have not been evaluated and licensed by the Department of Education and Training.

At the same time, schools are required to proactively coordinate with local authorities, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, functional forces and parents to organize clubs to practice life skills; prevent drowning and child abuse; prevent school violence; effectively promote clubs based on interests (such as sports: martial arts, football, table tennis, basketball, badminton...; cultural and artistic activities: musical instruments, singing, drawing, dancing...; reading...); or organize activities to practice communication in foreign languages...

The Departments of Education and Training must regularly direct schools in the area to strictly implement the above contents; strengthen inspection work and propose strict handling of organizations and individuals who violate; advise the People's Committees of districts (cities, towns) to direct localities to regularly review, grasp information and promptly reflect on extra-curricular teaching and learning in the area for timely handling in accordance with regulations. The Department of Education and Training will strengthen inspection work, surprise checks and strictly handle organizations and individuals who violate.
