On May 31st, the Tam Thai Commune Police announced that they had received one Manouria impressa tortoise, voluntarily handed over by Mr. Kha Van Huy (residing in Lung village, Tam Thai commune).

This is a rare individual turtle.
According to authorities, the bordered mountain tortoise belongs to Group IIB, and is listed as an endangered, rare, and precious forest animal protected by law.
After receiving the turtle, the Tam Thai Commune Police completed the necessary procedures and handed it over to the forest management and protection unit of Pu Mat National Park for care, monitoring, and eventual release back into its natural environment.
The police advise people not to hunt, keep, buy, sell, or transport wild animals illegally; and to promptly report any violations to the authorities so that they can be handled according to regulations.
