Artist Cong Tai has passed away.

Speaking to us, actor Bui Cong Danh said that his father, artist Cong Tai, passed away on July 16th after battling a serious illness.

Bui Cong Danh added that during his time in the hospital, artist Cong Tai kept his health condition private from friends and colleagues. He also limited sharing on his personal page because he wanted to maintain a positive image in his final days.

Artist Cong Tai passed away at the age of 72.

Artist Cong Tai's heartfelt wish

The family says that artist Cong Tai's dying wish was to see his son succeed in his profession. Recently, actor Bui Cong Danh won a silver medal at the National Professional Theatre Arts Festival for his portrayal of a people's police officer. This made artist Cong Tai very happy. "Before he passed away, my father told me to try my best in my profession," Bui Cong Danh shared.

On his personal page, Bui Cong Danh shared his feelings about the passing of his father. He said that throughout his battle with the serious illness, artist Cong Tai couldn't help but miss his profession and the film set. "I was by your side all this time, Dad. I faced all sorts of pressure, but seeing you lying there exhausted, I wish I could take your place and bear all that pain," the actor confided.

Many colleagues, including artists Tan Thi, Meritorious Artist Cat Tuong, and Binh Tinh, sent their heartfelt farewells to artist Cong Tai.

Artist Cong Tai, whose real name is Bui Hoang Hon, was born in 1954. He is known to audiences through his roles as kind and simple fathers and uncles. The male artist has participated in plays such as " The Island of the Goddess of Venus," "The Tower of Soul Stealer," etc.

According to his family, the funeral of artist Cong Tai will be held at his private residence. The embalming ceremony will take place at 8:30 AM on July 17th, and the funeral procession will begin at 2 PM on July 19th. Afterwards, his remains will be cremated at Da Phuoc Cemetery (Ho Chi Minh City).
